Americans have to tip their neighborhood each time they drive in or out.

texas is literally the worst state in existence
>>
Land of the free that
>>
i would be okay with this if the roads didn't have speed limits
>>
>>28840436
>The agency also noted that Creekland Village was developed after Highway 99 was already in place and that when the community was built, the toll road served as its only access point.
These people literally went home shopping and CHOSE to buy a house that they can only access via toll road.
>>
>>28840436
sounds like the 15 minute cities they were talking about
>>
This is the kind of thing that tends to happen in states with no income tax. Because states in the US are lower order governments they do not issue money and therefore do need tax revenue to fund themselves. So they tend to get rather aggressive with taxation in other areas.

So despite its right wing marketing campaign, if you look at things like property tax Texas is always in the top 10 in the country, with states like Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, etc.

>go house buying
>decide to buy a house that only has a toll road for access
>cry about it online as a victim
>south americans think all of america is like this
>>
Is this just shitty planning or a roundabout way to keep undesirables out of the neighborhood? In Texas it could be either.

You would have to be an actual retard to move into this development.
Also
>chudleigh farms
>>
>>28840717
Someone built a housing development next to a toll road and gave no other access and people were retarded enough to buy houses within it. I can't even imaigne wanting to live next to a heavy traffic highway to begin with. The noise is probably awful.

Clearly the plan is to connect it to future developments, but that still only gets you into the infinite suburban hellscape that is the greater houston area

It's a walkable neighborhood with nothing worth walking to.
Just miles and miles of concrete trails looping in on each other forever.
Maybe you could go visit one of your neighbors, but why bother when their house is identical to yours?

By setting up a retard trap?
>>
>>28840748
It would cut down heavily on traffic in front of your house which is appealing. Being able to take an evening stroll through the neighborhood is also appealing and could even result in meeting your neighbors
>>
>>28840454
No state income tax though.

You know what cuts down on traffic in front of your house? Not living in a cookie cutter neighborhood with 2 dozen houses down every cul de sac.
picrel, literally 10 minutes down the road from this development
>>
>>28841002
as posted here earlier, >>28840866 yes it does cut down on traffic and there are a lot of walkers
but there are also a lot of traffic too, not as much, but its there. it also gets bad during rush hour when half the population is trying to leave through 2 available exits. apparently 1 is legal in some states.
i cant imagine living there, all the streets are curved, cant see down to the next intersection, all houses look the same, all street names have a similar theme, house numbers constantly repeat, there will be a 300 Farrier St, and around a bent corner a 300 Foal St.
its a literal nightmare living there, imaging looking ahead and only seeing houses with no end street in sight in any direction you look.
oh and $400 a month HOA.
>>
>>28840436
there is a small road not connected to the highway but it must be private use, because the GPS refuses to route through it? it that's the case, it seems like jew developers built a retarded development that is toll access only, and retards bought the homes knowing full well it was toll access only.

It also smells like weed nonstop due to the Mexicans. Houston does prosecute weed anymore so cops won't stop obvious potheads.
>>
>>28840630
Or yuropoors seething about this one poorly planned neighborhood to cope with their congestion fees and emissions fees and cucked vehicles.

Yeah nigga and? Bro speeding is "urban" behavior fuckin' pussy ass honkeys jus brake the lock bro.
>>
>>28840730
guarantee not a single nonwhite or poor person lives there. probably paradise for the kids
>>
>>28841010
factually incorrect. every road being a dead-end guarantees no through-traffic, which means outside of people leaving for work and then coming home there is zero traffic on those roads. that's by design.
>>
>>28841966
>is that a safe and quiet neighbourhood with clean white nuclear families living in every house? I'M GOING INSANNNNEEEEEE
>>
When I delivered mail on the outskirts of my city all the routes were set up such that you got on the toll highway to get between neighborhoods but only for the space of one exit to the next because that wouldn't incur the toll. Never happened to me but you'd get in big shit if you screwed up and drove too far and got tolled.
>>
>>28840454
Texas had the biggest fall off of any american state, california is at least still beautiful naturally and the cities are interesting.
Texas has always been a flat wasteland and cities that are majority parking lots, with some fake macho culture about "dont mess with texas," and now its overrun by spics
>>
I used to work engineering for a very large US road toll company. I was the only white person in the entire facility (just Indians and Chinese). The guy in the office next to me was Chinese and didn't speak English, he was apparently their lead developer for cameras. This was 10 years ago and they could scan the plate of a bike going 200mph. I was the sysadmin overseeing all tolls in NYC 24/7 on-call despite living 1k+ miles away.
It's very exploitative and some real big brother shit. We don't set fees, the local DOT does, but it was getting outrageous, like $50 to cross one bridge one way when they started increasing the price when traffic got higher (there's a word for this, I forgot). Fresh out of college, day 1, I could pull up 4-8 cameras of any intersection in nyc live from my work laptop at home. They log everything and give it up to law enforcement every time they ask.

san antonio is quite nice imo but yeah texas is mostly gay and boring with flat nothing for miles and straight roads. new mexico is way cooler, has fun curvy roads and more iconic desert sights instead of flat barren tornado ravaged plains for 600 miles. oklahomo can suck my dick too, they last paved I40 in the '70s

This is the result of people who said ordered grid line squares are soulless.
Miles of basically randomly looping bullshit streets.

Thanks faggots, for your ever marching thoughtless shit making life ever more unnecessarily complicated.

They're a place to go jogging, walk your dog, etc. without the risk of feral minorities. That's a significant asset in a lot of parts of the US.
>>
>>28840454
Lived here basically all my life and yes, agreed.
>>
>>28845750
They're increasingly full of those minorities. Only place somewhat free of them are the gated rich communities
>>
>>28845750
again, you could live a couple miles down the road and have actual property for your dogs to run on >>28841010
>>
>>28845792
Not as good if you want to jog etc. though. At best you're gonna be running in the gravel verges of a road with no sidewalks and fast traffic. Also those properties are probably available way less often and come with a lot of maintenance hassles and so on. Personally I'd much rather have one than live in some cookie cutter development, but I understand why some people wouldn't.
>>
>>28845792
>>28841010
yeah buy a $10,000,000 plot of land instead of a $300,000 house wow what an option!!!

kek, must be paradise for lolberts
>>
>>28840436
Citation needed. Not that I would ever move to Texas, no matter how much I were paid to do so. I suppose views of the enormous refineries in Whiting from the Skyway are worth the toll, especially at night.
