Hi. I already have a practical car (GTI) and would like to get a fun car. I live in the sun belt and have a budget of 20-25k USD. Requirements:>Sedan, convertible, coupe, or wagon>Manual>Reasonable reliabilityNice to have:>RWD>Oil filter on top of the engine (so I can use an oil extractor for changes)>Pop up lights>ConvertibleCurrent candidates:>Miata, any generation>Toyota MR2 Spyder>Mercedes 190e>Pontiac firebird>Honda s2000Don't really like corvettes, boxters, or mustangs
C5 corvette DO NOT reply to me
>>28844028Well why don't you rent a convertible for a spin and see how you like it? If you enjoy it with the top down then there ya go just buy a convertible. Don't see why you'd bother with a sedan or wagon unless you're like me and you deal with the missus arguing over "muh family practicality" Yeah no two seaters for me unfortunately.
>>28844035Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I don't know if I even really want a convertible. They sound fun.
>>28844028>Pontiac firebirdYou want the trans am. The firebird came with a V6.
>>28844028E9x/E8x BMWs fit all of your criteria
none of those cars will be more fun than the GTI
>>28845267this but unironically. upgrade your suspension, rear sway bar and tires and then get alignment done and a remap and your gti will shit on those shitboxes
>>28844028That car is $100,000.
>>28844028330i ZHP.Z3 3.0i
>>28844042Firebird Formula had a V8.
>>28845294Holy fucking homo.
>>28844865Is his criteria pouring coolant everywhere?I did not see that mentioned.
>>28845272Well, already did. I threw on an H&R rear sway bar and some Michelin PS4s. They made a noticeable difference with how fast I can take turns, but at the end of the day I just want to experience something new. Being my first car, it's all that I know (enthusiast car wise). I like cars and would like to get the whole range of what there is to experience with them. Kind of want to go through a phase of trying out a whole bunch of different cars for a few months each just to see what they're like.
