>driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slowOk but why can't I drive a fast car fast?
>>28844352>Ok but why can't I drive a fast car fast?
2005 Mustang can't be driven fast in any scenario with any bends or turns due to the 1970s suspension
>>28844352The idea is that 100kph in a miata feels like 200kph in a McLaren. In most parts of the world you cant go 200kph but you can go 100kph. Hence, you can have more fun in a slow car than you can in a fast car. Although its an objectively retarded anecdote spewed by poorfags shitbox-coping yet again.
>>28844373how often are you going 200kph in a mclaren thoughwhats the color of your mclaren
>>28844373>The idea is that 100kph in a miata feels like 200kph in a McLaren.I think it may actually not be that retarded if you drive a Miata with roof down
>>28844376My Mclaren is transparent so nobody can see it
>>28844376>how often are you going 200kph in a mclaren thoughI'm not, but a fast car is objectively more fun in every way, and anyone that can afford a faster car will almost always buy a faster car, so "slow car fast" is poorfag cope. I was just explaining to op why the expression exists.
>>28844352There's just not enough margin of error if you're going up and down a mountain road of some sort in a fast car imhoAnd if you get something wrong there's a LOT more momentum for you to deal with
>>28844393yes but how often can you use a faster carunless you live on a racetrack or somewhere without speed limits and plenty of runoff the faster car is a white elephant owning a fast car is unironically overrated if you have nowhere to stretch its legs
>>28844373>Although its an objectively retarded anecdote spewed by poorfags shitbox-coping yet again. This is, ironically ,spewed by someone who has never driven a fast car because those of us who have understand what the anecdote means. When I took my uncles 991 turbo on the roads we touge with shitbox Miatas it wasn't more fun or enjoyable, the main difference was unlimited power out of turns which wasn't fun because those roads are suicidal at over 120 mph. It wasn't even faster through the tight turns and it FELT slower as well because its insulated but you could still kill yourself at any second with the acceleration.
>>28844352You'd have to have genuinely low IQ to ask this question.>Amerislop caryep, checks out.
>>28844379......
>>28844434>>28844363to be fair that amerislop car is the equivalent of a miata in american terms, they're not THAT fast and feel more fun/have more character than given credit for.its unironically slow car fast in american terms when fast car fast would be something like a corvette c7 or gt350/dark horse mustang. its 260-270whp in a 3500lb car with no traction/stability control, a great chassis (same rigidity as bmw e90/e92s) but the LRA makes it fun
>>28844352You can, but the level of enjoyment to be had depends on the car. I had more fun in my NA Miata than I did in a Ferrari 430, Lamborghini Gallardo, and Porsche GT3 RS, which was surprising and slightly disappointing to me. Speed can be fun in and of itself, but I think they were just too refined to really make that speed feel special. The NA, however, is basically a fucking shed on wheels, making the slower speeds feel much more visceral and rewarding. Same goes for the M3 I used to have; far quicker, but much more isolated from the experience and so much less fun.Just as an aside, the most fun I ever had was on a rally stage in a GT86. Un-fucking-believable amount of fun, and I really encourage anyone to go on a rally experience.
>>28844480i forgot to add the LRA makes it fun but not truly fast: s550 gave you the ability to add rear camber making it WAY WAY faster around corners on top of +100whp. that said if you try hard enough you can make one go around a track as fast as a s2000 without crazy horsepower. grm got their clapped out bone stock 2006 project on all seasons around a small track faster than a nd3 miata https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars/2006-mustang-gt/tracking-a-just-purchased-20-year-old-mustang-what/>But after driving our new-to-us Mustang, I kind of get it. Even in it's off-the-used-car-lot condition the car does a lot of things well, and shows a lot of potential. it doesn't hurt that it makes awesome noises and has great presence on track, either.>S197s have exceptional steering. I'm not sure how they do it, but they do. The steering makes the car feel 20% smaller than it is since you can just place it so well and stay tidy with your lines. Even on the 540 tw (!?!?!) tires it had an air of nimbleness about it. The brakes sucked, and the diff is shot, but all that stuff is easily fixable, and those areas are on the CSM spec sheet to address anyway.
>>28844352getting good performance out of a car with low power requires, and cultivates skill.driving a car with loads of power just feeds ego and gives an unearned impression of talent
>>28844416>my uncles 991 turbo>uh guyz I akshually rode in the passenger seat of a poorcshe one time on the too-gay and it wasnt as fun and precise as my go-kart-like miata.Youre literally the embodiment of everything that miata drivers are hated for. >>28844399>yes but how often can you use a faster carAll the time. Literally all the time. Legal? No.Again, once people have more money they get a faster car. Literally every single time. Slow cars are poorfag cope.
>>28844352Because you'll realize that you'll die if you push it then end up driving the same as everyone else.Gotta learn RWD on something with less power to gain confidence, or you end up dead or in debt with a totaled car.
>>28844352You can, but they have crazy surveillance now.I hate pigs so much, bros.
>>28844890fast cars are retarded i sold my 500whp car and im happier in one with half the power because the 500whp one was not happy if i wasn't doing at least 90 in a 55, i didn't have anywhere to really stretch its legs before i ran into traffic everyone who went down the power rabbithole i personally know ended up inadvertently spending house downpayment money to run 9s in the 1/4 once a year or rides liter bikes
>>28844352i like my mustang bros i just got it :DD
>>28844352This meme comes from slow cars being able to rev out to redline without breaking the speed limit, and having small little tires that make screechy noises around corners without going too fast Basically there are more opportunities to larp as a racecar driver in a slow car on public roads
>>28845027You know, when you larp as something long enough, you become that thing. It's called practice, you don't go out on a skateboard doing 720 McTwists without ever having skated before.
>>28845070ok but just know that some people will always just be beaners out guard railing their moms accord and won't amount to anything else but they will be on facebook talking about race cars endlessly.
>>28844949>reddit spacing >fast car bad because i live somewhere gay and cant use it>sold my 500whp car poor, you probably didn't own it, you probably missed a payment more like and are sour grapes ass broke nigga >>28844890nigger homo ev retard

>>28844352>fast car fastverboten
>>28845088Hey, it's all part of the game. Shitters only make me look better.
>>28844352>why can't I drive a fast car fast? You can, costs more and is far more dangerous.Taking Turn 1 at 148mph is a lot more risky than 90mph in a Miata.
>>28844949500hp is meaningless if you dont have handling to back it up. A 500hp foxbody is going to be completely unusable on public roads, meanwhile I can wring out pretty much any 500hp ev.
>>28845276you should shoot yourself in the fucking head.
>>28844352"Fast car slow" doesn't refer to driving the fast car slower than the slow car, it means slow in relation to its uncorked performance. i.e. you can't floor a high HP car coming out of a corner because you'll spin the tires. By the time you *could* floor it you've hit the max safe speed for the road so you have to pull back even further. So you're super restrained in the corners because touching the throttle one millimeter too much and you're spinning out, you have to restrain your foot in the acceleration in the straight, and you're up to stupid speed so fast that you all you're doing is babying it along at stupid speed for the majority of the straight. In a lower HP car you can steer the rear end with more precision in the corner and you can actually floor it in the straight. The smaller, lighter car is also more nimble. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car fast-but-a-lot-less-fast-than-it-could-achieve-at-Talladega-so-you're-driving-it-a-lot-less-fast-than-what-it-can-do-because-the-road-conditions-are-nothing-like-Tallagega.The fast car is made to be driven between 140 and 200MPH. You're driving it between 40 and 100 in a 25. The small, light, lower horsepower car is just more fun doing between 40 and 100 on a road where oncoming traffic might be 2 feet over the line coming around a blind corner.
>>28845117What the hell car has an 80MPH speedo and a LCD high speed indicator?
>>28845276yeah but legitimately ask yourself if a 500hp ev is nearly as fun as even a 250hp foxbodythe fun factor is harder to quantify into a number which is why you have boomers racing 1970s italian cars with 200hp https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/are-older-cars-really-more-enj/182442/page1/>>28845284new (faster) cars are unironically perfect too which takes alot of the fun (read: character) out, think the trailing arm oversteer setup on a e30 vs the newer multilink on the e36/46s
>>28845289That's the rev counter ya double dingus
Oit of spl the cars ive driven, up to 600hp, the most fun ive had is spinning a 110hp rotsary to 8000rpm and not breaking the speed limit. Even 250hp is too much to enjoy on the streets like that.
>>28844352The police will come : /
>>28845107GibErection intensifies
>>28844352You can drive the fast car fast relative to the speed of the slow carbut you can't drive the fast car fast relative to the maximum grip potential of the fast carYou need to not be a driverlet to understand the appeal of dancing with a car at its absolute limit of grip
>>28845544>yeah but legitimately ask yourself if a 500hp ev is nearly as fun as even a 250hp foxbodyLook man I still have my frs which only makes about 300hp, I'd never replace my track car with ev slop. Im just saying a car designed for 500hp from the getgo is may more usable on the street than a car designed for 200-300hp. And back to slow car good fast car bad, if it had the money to replace the frs with something faster I'd do it in a heartbeat. Slow car good is poorfag cope, and always will be, because 99% of people would buy a faster car any chance they get.
A slow car isn't ever better than a fast car if you fix every other attribute to be the same. It's only that slow cars are often lighter that makes them more desirable. So it should really be light car vs fast car, not slow car vs fast car.
im a fan of driving a slow car slow personallythis is why i have never been pulled over in the 15 years ive had a license
>>28844480>>28844528The 2010 Suspension update made them go from competent to surprisingly capable even with the LRA. And they gained 100hp in 2011 years before the S550 update.
>>28844890>Youre literally the embodiment of everything that miata drivers are hated for.I like how your in-head cope of "nooo that didnt happen" is the reason why "miata drivers are hated"lol schizo retard
>>28844352Imagine thinking this little about the fit between road conditions and what one drives, never mind for what purpose, or taste: I most enjoy driving big comfy sedans on remote and spectacularly level interstate stretches where one can go 75mph without concern, and 90 for a certain change of perspective. A few days ago I found myself stopped at a RR crossing behind a little Cadillac with a 2L turbo four, and felt kind of bad for the owner who fell for such a trick.
>>28846162There is such a thing as too much power.Your inner teen wants the feeling of jumping on a steed and completely uncorking its potential with there being a near-telepathic connection between you and the horse. But if the conditions don't allow you to uncork it because they're too dangerous for the horse (which also makes it dangerous for you), then you're not flying with the horse free from the bonds of gravity, gravity instead has roped you in and staked you to the responsibility of managing safety. Instead of childlike fun you have to be an adult. If you have so much power that you could snap oversteer at any time, you have to pull back and be the adult. You can't uncork it because you have more power than traction. You could try drifting everywhere, but that's not really "uncorked" (your acceleration is lower than the slow car), you're going through a set of rear tires every few minutes, and the cops are going to pull you over even if you're only doing 5 MPH. There's a reason 500HP Corvette owners drive 5 MPH under the limit while 200HP BMW owners are doing 30 over. The Corvette owner needs to manage his car while the BMW owner is free to use the go pedal and his car begs him to use all of it.
>>28847250stop fucking reddit spacing you god damn faggot
>Why lift heavy weights at the gym when I can just lift the 5 pound weights a million times?
>>28847253powerlifters are the ugliest motherfuckers on the planet, I have no idea why people want to look like that, smaller roid apes dont look any better either.
The only limit to having fun in a fast car is the driver. If you suck or broke, you will abide by the slow car fast mantra. If you know your limits and had enough to drop on a quick car, you will be able to enjoy both a fast car fast and a slow car slow. It's a limiting mindset only used by the unfortunate that cant fathom anything outside of their own bubble.
>>28847258Speaking of limiting mindsets...
>>28847258The conditions are limiting. Why don't go-kart tracks have track days for street cars? It's because they would barely fit and you would need to carefully navigate around the track. Your 1000HP tuned GTR is just not going to be anywhere near as fun as a go-kart because the track can't accommodate driving it at anywhere near its potential.A twisty 25 MPH road can't accommodate a 1000HP tuned GTR at anywhere near its potential, either.A go-kart is too slow for this "track." A GTR is still too fast. You need something in between.
>>28847252What the fuck is reddit spacing? You mean paragraphs? Are you fucking stupid?
fast car isnt for going fast at 150 mphits for overtaking other when you need to cut them off or speed up when tailgate nigger try to overtake you
>>28847250> But if the conditions don't allow you tobasically just getting cucked by the police, not just in a fast car but also one that looks flashy (since faster cars generally look more interesting) it's not about danger >>28847257trvke. excessive muscles look ugly as fuck
I drive my fast car normally and about the speed limit on 2 lane roads and then use my gratuitous amount of power to fuck with people when they get mad I'm obeying the law and try to pass me on the double yellow. Infinitely more fun than just driving fast all the time.
>>28844363>2005 Mustang can't be driven fast in any scenario with any bends or turns due to the 1970s suspensionRetarded take, they can be driven very fast, especially with some better springs and dampers. The live axle only hurts you if you hit a bump mid-corner.
>>28844352the cops that aren't rocking SUVs have vehicles that can sustain 155mph now. Very limited pool of vehicles that can outpace that, very few spots to do it, even fewer drivers capable of handling it.The days of tuning a Japanese car and leaving Crown Vic in the dust to fishtail themselves into oblivion are over.
>>28844352>Ok but why can't I drive a fast car fast?Cops, lack of skill, inadequate roads.
