What car brands would you like to see revived?

Plymouth, Pontiac, AMC, and I would like to see Yamaha build a car.

AMC, Saturn, Geo

Pontiac and Holden, but I wouldn't trust gm to do it properly. Also Autozam!
>>
>>28845320
None. There is not a single brand that I'd like to see come back that I would subject to the humiliation of becoming a soulless electric transport pod.
>>

What a machine that is. 32 valve 8 cylinder that would run away from anything on the road.

>What car brands would you like to see revived?

Pontiac: Make it a performance brand, lean into the racing heritage. I'd love to see a new Firebird roadster to compete with Miata the way the Solstice did.

Jaguar: Technically they still exist; but everyone running the company needs to be lined up and shot and then the entire company should be given to Jeremy Clarkson.

Richard Petty was such a boss, I love reading old 60s car magazines that gas him up. What a cool motherfucker.

They were all powered by Olds, Buick or Chevy at the end, they died for a reason.
>>
>>28845320
Auburn
Lancia (as in proper ones)
Saab
>>
>>28845362
But Saturn would be good as a generic EV
>>
>>28845527
>Auburn
it doesn't mean anything to anyone
>Lancia (as in proper ones)
everyone pronounces it wrong and only knows one model
>Saab
Volvo mogs Saab in every possible way

>Saab
They died for a very good reason, their shitheap cars couldn't turn a profit even with GM help.
Also /o/ loves to screech about overcomplicated yet fragile European cars, but saabs took that a step further by making shit overcomplicated for the sake of quirky design.

Mazda

Sure, because 900 was so fragile.
>>

It indeed was, the ass backwards engine layout thankfully made clutch swaps easy, because you're doing a lot of them especially on a turbo saab.
Rusts like a 70s jap car, electronics never really work and cracked heads were common.

Studebaker. I don't like em but they were at least interesting.

I am absolutely furious that Electric Cars exist which means not every single car needs to look like a faggot aerodynamic egg and yet we cant have an electric pic related

Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Ford, Opel, Peugeot

EVs sit on top of thousands of batteries with a crazy cooling system encased in a safety cage. You could make that an EV, but not at the level of modern ones. EVs are awkwardly tall for a reason.
>>
>>28845725
I wonder if solid state batteries can change this.

Mercedes is already doing real world road tests with an electric sedan that does 750 mi on a charge.
>>
>>28845352

I presume you mean Isuzu?
>>
>>28845725
>EVs are awkwardly tall for a reason
yeah the reason is car companies are all to lazy to design a battery layout as anything other than a skateboard. ever noticed how every ev has a frunk? they don't need it. put some batteries there. take them out from where people's legs go. drop the roof 4 inches.

Yes, let's put all the highly flammable batteries in the crumple zones.

For a time, "it's a doozy" stuck around in the public lexicon because of that.

Vanden Plas / Austin. Not because I want modern vehicles from that brand, I just want them to have a heritage branch that manufactures the several NLA parts that physically don't exist anymore.
>>
>>28848049
yeah that's so much sketchier than putting the jumbled mess of gasoline and fire that ICE cars put there

I miss Saab so much. You can make these things fuckin fast so easily. Really cool interiors too.
