So I decided to try out riding during the Winter 2 months ago, and got myself a pair of studded winter tyres on my Honda Waveish bike. Once snow started settling, I tried to carefully ride around the neighborhood, expecting it to be impossible, but I was surprised how easy it went. Since then I’ve ridden for over 2 months and here’s my experience:>on flat hard snow, there’s generally no issue riding as long as you’re riding carefully. More grip than you would imagine.>bike weights around 200lbs so it reduces brake distance and is also easy to salvage should it start slipping>have never really slid in any dangerous way>most of the time, the roads are "dry" of snow/ice, so they aren’t really problematic to ride on>the sketchiest conditions are hard ice which appears as small patches usually in suburb intersections, but are generally very limited>I’ve done -15C/5F for 3 hours and aslong as you have windproof, insulating jacket, pants, boots, and gloves, a wool balaclava, windproof muffs, and heated grips, you’ll generally have no issue with the temperatureThe only thing is…I am pretty much the only one on the road nowadays. Are most riders just not willing to bother riding in such cold comfort or am I just the only one retarded enough to take the risk doing this?

Riding season is back and some guy constantly working on their truck for some reason keeps pesting to help out when I do anything to my bike. Anyways it is riding season finally. Gonna take the rebel 300 back on work commutes. Still constantly semi regretting buying it because I want a bike that can turn and lean a bit more, also hate how buzzy it is even with all the added stuff. I have one and a half years till the theft insurance expires that I took so I would get out the door price back so I figure I should wait it out.Btw i haven't ever changed coolant or brake fluid and I bought the bike in july 2025, does anyone know a way to identify if brake and coolant need changed?
