Does a car that fulfills these criteria exist?>build year between 2003 and 2013-ish>available on yuropoor market>RWD or AWD>gasoline engine>decent MPG>doesn't cost an arm and a leg to buy or maintain>most important of all: reliable>bonus: fun to drive
>>28847151you want a motorcycle.
>>28847167I already have one but it's useless in the winter.
You don't need RWD to have fun driving
>>28847215I agree but in the winter FWD kinda sucks.
>>28847151How many seats do you need? If only 2 get MX5 or MR2 Spyder
>>28847254>in the winter FWD kinda suckswatfwd pulls you through the snow, it's RWD that sucks.
>>28847469This man is correct70-80 percent of the weight lies on the front axle. No traction control can compensate for that when you need to go up an icy hill.
>>28847471>>28847469FWD in the snow = understeerRWD in the snow = oversteeralthough RWD needs a limited-slip diff to be of any use in the snow
>>28847469>t. brainwashed retard raped by marketers
>>28847828Only if you're retarded
>>28847151Miata? Taxi-spec e-class? 3-series? Volvo wagon? I think there was an awd 9-3
>>28847151Suzuki Swift 4x4
>>28847471This. It's why county plows are all front wheel drive - you've got all the weight of the plow and the cast iron diesel engine to provide traction
>>28847151Any AWD Volvo from that period.
>>28847856he said decent mpg
>>28847844Actually that does seem like a decent option. Which is better, 1st gen or 2nd gen? Curiously though, all the ones for sale around here are rather low mileage ones, so how reliable are they really?
>>28847866And reliable with fun to drive being a bonus
>>28847868The 5 cylinder petrols are very reliable.
>>28847867Not an expert, but I think the first and second gen are similar enough that I wouldn't worry about it. They are quite reliable. Only weak point is the gearbox. There is an input shaft bearing that goes bad and needs to be replaced. Where I live, Swifts are very popular, and this is a well known and not too expensive (<200 euro) thing. I've owned the Swift in the photo for about six months, overall very happy with it. I bought it for rally raids and have gone on some brutal terrain with it. Only major unplanned problem so far is that the alternator (original from 2007 with 350k km) started going out while driving into downtown Nouakchott last night. I am sitting around at a shop waiting for the electrician now.
