The cars I've seen stranded by the side of the road most in recent months has been BMW and Mercedes EVs, not this one specifically though, but still. Saw a couple of older Mazda CX30s (?) yesterday at least I think that's what they were. But yeah, these BMW i whatevers don't seem to be terribly reliable.
I'm actually really liking the 230i. I like the B48 engine and zf8 combo and the car feels like it's well built although I haven't driven it. It's small, turbo and rev happy 4 cylinder, and most importantly, it's cute.

The iX3 has more cells packed to the body rather than a larger unit that is placed as a singular unit. This means they can pack in more battery on the same body which in turn gives greater range. But i4 has decent range on its own. iX3 has 800V charging though which i4 lacks. Doubt we'll see a Neue Klasse i4 until late 2027.
