how would you attach an inverter to your dash trim? I don't want to start blasting screws into stuff because I have fear in my heart.I have a friction fit PETG printed part to house the inverter with a textured surface but nothing seems to stick to the polypropylene of the dash in this Tacoma. 3M VHF fell off, as expected. I could dab E600 glue in four corners and see if it holds, but that would also be a pain to remove and potentially fuck with dash up. Ill be wrenching on it a bit to plug in a laptop so it has to be somewhat strong.any late night big brains have the knowledge and experience to solve this?
>>28854522why wouldn’t you just velcro it to the carpet?
>>28854522Why can't you use that bracket right under your 12v outlet? Zip tie it into place there or use some fasteners and tap it into the 3d printed housing or w/e.Since you need to plug things into the inverter it will require a bit of good reinforcement to withstand the pressure of insertion and removal of various plugs especially the AC plug, so I would recommend you get over your fear of cutting/drilling into your truck's plastic trim pieces as you will want to install it with fasteners over things glued or taped into place (which you are finding difficult to adhere to on such a surface anyways). You can either cut a slit large enough for zip ties to route through and zip tie your inverter into place this can be on the plastic trim piece or carpet under the driver or passenger seat.
