Mx-5, Miata, Roadster, Fiata General The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size.

It's rusty and fucked. A new one is the best option. To get the rail off you need to undo the clip from inside the door. It's a bastard job. Look at this link to see how the clips work.

I'd use some 2 part epoxy glue to temporary repair it, but don't get any on the paint.

Raise the car with the lift and have the mechanic listen under the car. Could be clutch related issue.

My suspension feels a bit boring and maybe a bit worn out. I mostly just enjoy driving on the street. Any upgrade recs? 1995 NA, would prefer stock height, maybe an inch drop or so. I don't want to clench my cheeks when I see a pothole.

Yes, but.
Early Miata's are forever cars. As long as you stop it from rusting away, you car keep your 35 year old sports car running indefinitely. As new cars get more complex (electrical) systems, there may be more repair choke points in the future.
>>
>>28863354

For sure. Who knows what kind of hybrid monstrosity will come next. Mazda won my trust by keeping the ND as light as the original car. Its possible that they release a hybrid car that is just as light and fun but it can easily be ruined. ND might be the last pure Miata. Get it while you can, when the production stops the price will only go up.

This is so true. Mazda is better than other manufactures at the moment, but enshitification is the viral trend.

To be fair, Mazda has refused to paint the ND in any actual colors for its entire production run so it kinda wins by default

Z4 ends this month. No Boxter anymore. No Toyota GT86, you can't get it in Europe anymore. Fuck, Mazda is pretty much the last man standing.
Only other one I can think of is the A110. Anything else?
>>
>>28867106
A110 is going away in a few months too
>>
>>28867106
>Z4
>affordable
maybe it's cheaper in europe but in the states the starting MSRP is twice that of the miata. we don't have the A110 but that seems pretty pricey too, at 55k gbp.
supposedly the nissan z has become a lot cheaper over the past year. dont know if that's available in europe.
>>
>>28867148
Guess the point I was making is that sports car supply appears to be drying up completely. Supra will also end with the Z4. In Oz we still have the BRZ/86 twins priced similar to Mx-5. 400Z and base Mustang are double the price.
>>
>>28866683

>>
>>28862157
Does it sound like a little bird chirping? Mine did that noise like you described. Turns out the clutch slave to pivot fork was dry as a bone. I grabbed some grease and literally ran it all around the rod and where it attached to the fork. You can probably feel it without jacking the car. That connection gets dry and the grease keeps it from squeaking.

I can't make up my mind on what color to wrap my ND in.
Was thinking British racing green would look cool, then dark purple, now I'm leaning towards something like the sunburst yellow option for NA miatas.

I would probably choose Sunburst Yellow, but I'm biased. With a bright colour you feel safer, because you know other motorists can see you.
BRG looks sexy though.

Not who you replied to, but I just got a couple more BT cassettes, seem to have lost my old ones. They work well for me with the stock headunit and speakers.
>>
>>28868714
Neat, I didn't know this was a thing
>>
>>28868716
Surprisingly good sound quality, especially compared to those shitty FM transmitter ones. Only downside is having to recharge the batteries in the cassette. Hence, why a couple are required.
>>
The '99 I just bought popped a P0402 today, looks like I've gotta take out the upper intake manifold and clean the EGR and change some vacuum hoses. That is the thing to do, right?
>>
Why is the confirmation of the next generation Miata being hybrid not talked about more?
>>
>>28868798
Because it's not confirmed. Nothing is finalized, they're just working on a mild hybrid at this stage. We talked about this in the last /mg/ . Here's the link to the latest rumors.
https://autorai.nl/interview-opvolger-mazda-mx-5/
>>
>>28868798
We'll see. There's plenty of potential for hybrids to be driver-oriented.
I will never understand why gov'ts have such a hard-on for killing anything simple and fun, but it might be really good. I doubt it though...

I was driving back from checking out an NB (left a deposit) and on the way home a car run up my ass for the first time in my life. It was slow speed so everything is fine and the spare tire acted as a bumper for my rav4 while leaving a nice dent on the new BMW hood.

Anyway what are the chances that this is some sort of omen and this NB may be cursed?
