Groceries are going to get more expensive because of these fucks and my government is too corrupt/incompetent to do anything about it. I wish electric cars were more affordable.
>>28866240Do you think electricity will become cheaper in the future?Data centers are causing significant spikes in residential electricity bills due to massive, AI-driven energy consumption and, as of 2026, account for roughly 4.4% of total U.S. electricity usage, a figure projected to triple (!) by 2028. Wholesale electricity costs as much as 267% more than it did five years ago in areas near data centers. That's being passed on to customers.
>>28866244We got solar panels
feels good being a dieselchad*sip*
>>28866286what is diesel made from?
>2 Euro per liter is approximately $8.00 - $8.20 USD per US gallon.Whew. Damn, I thought the world was ending when it went over $3/gal yesterday - 0.68 € / L.
>>28866875Hydrotreated vegetable oil
>>28866286diesel is also 2€, it's so fucking over
>>28866875Immigrant curry diarrhoea
>>28866244Yeah, electricity is going to get a ton cheaper. Right now huge amounts of money is being invested into solar to both handle existing and new demand. Once solar has replaced all fossil fuels, since there's no maintanence and it's extemely reliable the price of electricity will plummet.
>>28868382Even if it wouldn't get cheaper, it's better to own your source of energy instead having to depend on parasites like shell.
>>28868382It unfortunately won't.Solar is built because people get more than market value out of it (paid for by other customers and taxes). As soon as this is dropped, solar works to cover your own demand, but not to power the grid. The problem is, that when your solar panels produce max output, your neighbor's do as well, so the actual value of the energy produced is low.Right at the moment the spot price is at 0,5ct/kWh, while solarfags get 6ct/kWh.
