what is with your obsession with kia crossovers and econoboxes
>>28866947they mog the rav4 and crv
I've seen what comes out of the oil pan of turbo'd kias brother, that's just speedrunning your trip back to the dealership to get the engine warrantied.they wouldn't offer 100k mile 10 year powertrain warranty if they didn't have to
>>28866957just gotta change the oil regularly
>>28866972yeah about every thousand fucking miles those motherfuckers COOK that shit. it is insane.
>>28866952Even if that were true, it's not like that's a high bar. It's like arguing about which paint color is the most interesting to watch dry
>>28866977I think the sportage/tucson twins are the best selling car in the UK now after Tesla dropped offI agree, the paint colors could be much brighter. The green gray looks is boring and I miss read bright metallic greens that aren't quite "candy paint". The blue and the red are best and I feel like there's a hybrid-only teal that's probably the best color of all but it could all use more shimmer and is very dull. Compact SUVS are the most competitive market segment in the US apart from full size truggs.
>>28866751If it just had a bomb wired up under it it'd be perfect
>>28866952No. At least the CRV is a Honda, so it has a little bit of soul.
>>28866989the powertrains suck and the interior is bland and basici mean, im sure it steers well, don't get me wrong, it wins that, but otherwise, you get less features 4 money than a gookmobile

would it be possible to fit the e39 540 v8 into the engine bay of a Kia Sportage?
>>28866990I know I'm a fanboy, but it's objectively true that nobody looks at a Hyundai or Kia and feels proud of their car. They're auraless.

>>28866952Rav4 mogs but >>28866752 is right. Best you could do is larp performance for SUV/Crossovers. Leave performance to real sports car
>>28870191The 2.5 in the Toyota is even rougher than the 2.5 in the Kia. That's not an accomplishment. The "rav4 gr sport" is an appearance package (they claim the suspension is tuned differently but cmon) for the rav4 plug in which weights 4500 lbs
>>28866751if it had a turbo it would blow up even faster
>>28870248it doesn't blow up!
>>28870249I'm sure it doesn't

>>28870202>The 2.5 in the Toyota is even rougher than the 2.5 in the Kia. That's not an accomplishment. It's faster than the Sportage PHEV to 60 by almost 2 secs. Mogged>The "rav4 gr sport" is an appearance package (they claim the suspension is tuned differently but cmon) for the rav4 plug in which weights 4500 lbsYeah, that's why I said it's larp performance. Duh. It looks good enough for normies to say that the GR Sport looks sporty, so mogged again
>>28870313>It's faster than the Sportage PHEV to 60 by almost 2 secs. Moggedwith a full battery, and when the battery runs out, you have a big heavy battery and a rough coarse 2.5 engine.
>>28866982You're such a pathetic retard.
>>28870320>with a full battery, and when the battery runs out, you have a big heavy battery and a rough coarse 2.5 engine.Same with a Sportage PHEV, so at worst they're "even" and at best Rav4 mogs
>>28870329sportage has a less crude/rough engine (which was my whole point that you ignored from the start), and also weighs 2-300 lbs less
>>28870335>sportage has a less crude/rough engine (which was my whole point that you ignored from the start)So because of this one factor, it beats it despite there being other appealing aspects that the Rav4 has, like more electric range and horsepower?>also weighs 2-300 lbs lessCloser to 100-200 lbs but we’re talking 4000lb+ crossovers here, it’s a moot point, and if it isn’t moot point, then the “GR Sport enhancements” matter (which they don’t)
>>28870345have you ever sat inside a rav4?it is beyond cheap insidenot that kia is some luxury thing, but fuck it's sure nicer than THAT
>>28870346>not that kia is some luxury thing, but fuck it's sure nicer than THATI will admit that the Toyota is pretty spartan inside and I have sat in a friend’s Sportage and thought it was fairly nicer, but I think Toyota has other aspects that make up for it. I am personally a fan of trims like GR Sport or Woodlands not because I actually think they’re necessarily practical in their suits, but it’s a nice flavoring a dull world of gray, black and white commuter cars. Other than that, my other friend’s 2025 Nissan Rogue was also nice inside and he thought the engine was smooth despite being a cylinder down (he’s not into cars) I don’t know if that three cylinder is much worse than the 2.5 liter engines but if he didn’t mind it, I don’t think many would either.
>>28870367>but I think Toyota has other aspects that make up for it.nonetoyota is built cheaply, the "new" rav4 is the same engines and platform as the old one, just with a new interior that STILL has already gotten ragged on by car magazines for being cheap EVEN YOU can admit the kia is nicer inside!I dunno about the Nissan I-3 but the old 2.54 was garbage - far worse than the Kia engine and it REALLY struggled on steep hills. Kia is #1 in ADAS software systems. You get the smoothest experience with cruise control, sensors, cameras, lane keep, all that with Kia. Nissan gatekeeps you out of hands free driving except on the very top trim Rogue, and Kia claims you get a lesser cruise control system on lower trims but apparently its actually the exact same.
>>28870346rav4s are for lesbians who think they need something more hardcore than a subaru so the spartan interior is part of the appeal
>>28870379>more hardcore than a subaruin what universe>thinks the woodland trim has low range gearingrav4s are for uber drivers and ghetto non white parents
>>28870382do you understand english
>>28870389nobody, especially not a female, has ever gotten into a RAV4, and then thought to themselves "this is more hardcore than a subaru".
>>28870392i guess youre the expert lady
>>28870369And yet, Car and Driver reviews the Rav4 higher. So there are people out there who do think so too and I know other publications might have the reverse too. You can’t ignore that it has more power and maybe more important to current consumer, a larger electric range and thus large range. I also think the exterior looks better too on certain trims but that’s my opinon but I know others will share>I dunno about the Nissan I-3 but the old 2.54 was garbage - far worse than the Kia engineHere’s the funny thing, my friend also had the old 2.5 liter engine before getting the new Rogue and I even drove the old one too. It was also fine and commuter car like. I don’t think it’s actually as awful as you make it out to be and we both lived in mountains and city area too. He thought they both drove well (as a regular non car guy)
>>28870565>And yet, Car and Driver reviews the Rav4 higher.um not really if you read the individual comments over the course of multiple reviews its clear the kia/hoon is nicerthe rav4 prime is certainly faster but that's about all it has going for it and there's a bunch of other downsides that you are unwilling to admit exist >we both lived in mountainslike, serious mountains and you took it up winding roads? the rogue sucked my dude.
>>28870271I'm sure that people are searching for recalls and issues and failures because of how reliable they are.
>>28871076>um not really if you read the individual comments over the course of multiple reviews its clear the kia/hoon is nicerI think I might've cross referenced these twohttps://www.caranddriver.com/kia/sportage-2025https://www.caranddriver.com/toyota/rav4And it's like a half point difference and a model year difference so it's not really fair or even too relevant. >there's a bunch of other downsides that you are unwilling to admit existMy original point is that despite the flaws Rav4 has, someone can find value in that vehicle that you may not necessarily agree on. I was never unwilling to admit downsides, I just don't think they affect me personally as much as you. Maybe the Rav4's upsides don't make up for its downsides for you, but it does for me (even though I wouldn't buy either one) >like, serious mountains and you took it up winding roads?Yeah but it's not like I was hard cornering up and downhill to the limit or anything, we were just cruising and it was ok enough for someone who doesn't care about cars and isn't daily commuting a mountain road. My local roads are seriously fun winding roads that I see Porsche, bimmers, and Z's go for fun up and downhill climbs. Ears pop as you climb elevation type shit.>the rogue sucked my dudeHonestly, I don't care for the Rogue, Sportage, or Rav4. They're boring vehicles that might as well be the same to me if not, one is nicer in some aspects than others. Do you have a Sportage? My friend has one and she likes it enough but she doesn't give two shits about cars or driving. She felt fine riding in my friend's Rogue with the 2.5 liter engine. It feels silly to make such a thread about boring stock commuter cars
>>28871165>someone can find value in that vehiclethe value is simply the brand prestige alone>Yeah but it's not like I was hard cornering up and downhill to the limit or anythingthe engine was seriously underpowered
