2016 4runner sr5 with 200k miles listed for 13k. One serious accident reported two years ago, otherwise clean history. Blue with some hail damage. Would you buy it?

I bought a 2006 with 200k, it needed head gaskets after 30k, did all new shocks & springs and front brakes and it's been great. Put in a new radiator too, and the alternator started stinking on me so I swapped in one from the junkyard. Other than new fluids and filters and plugs, that's about all it's needed and I'm at 250k.
>>
>>28866940
Looks from carfax like head gaskets have already been replaced. Would you say 13k is too much all considered? I would like this to be a lifetime vehicle, but wonder if this is just toyota tax at this point
>>
Why do people go crazy for these things? It's just a fucking suv.
>>
>>28866946
Good question. It is truly a mystery. With even high mileage examples like OP going for a whopping 19k around me, I cant help but feel like this is almost a deal in this market.
>>
>>28866944
if you baby it it should see 300k no problem. You will have to put some parts into it, and the lower control arms alignment adjustment cam bolts may be frozen, which is fine until you want to change parts. That's a 2wd price though, it's going to be shit offroad, and the traction control they all have makes it zero fun in the snow, unless you cut the right wire and put in a switch to turn it all off.

Test drive it and pay close attention to the transmission, make sure it doesn't feel weird. Mine has a weird hard shift at about 30mph when going slightly downhill and maintaining speed, but it's always had that and it never changes. I can live with it.

this is for your daughter right?
Just get a mazda cx-5. I'm seeing about 1 billion of these things for sale between $12-15k with ~100k miles on the odo with zero accidents model years '16-18. Put some all seasons on it she can get absolutely anywhere she needs to go ski areas included, just can't go fucking overlanding or something.
But yeah spew your autism at me about why you NEED to overpay for a rolled, hail damaged, dog piss soaked 200k miles on the drivetrain 4runner that she's going to crash in 6 months anyway
>>
>>28866953
Its 4wd, sad to hear you cant turn traction control off.

>>28866955
Its for me, was planning on turning this into a lifetime offroading vehicle, since I live in the remote rockies and want to do some exploring. I had some luck with an old montero, but it recently caught on fire. Is the cx5 something that can become an offroader? Dont know much about them.
Also, there is some dog piss clearly visible in the carpet on the listing. No idea how you called that.

looking closer at this picture, someone's been at it, the step rails are gone, the headlights are aftermarket, obviously the badges are blacked out. I'd look very closely at the electrical system. These things have like 25 different computers on them, like the rear hatch has its own body computer, the 4wd has its own computer, etc. so I'd make sure to test every single thing you can. I don't see a sunroof so that's a plus, no leak possibility. Crawl underneath it, see how much abuse it's taken, if the gas tank skid is bashed make sure the tank itself isn't damaged. The body looks nice so it's probably fine underneath.

>you cant turn traction control off
you technically can, check the forums for that specific year to be sure, but on mine you just cut the red wire coming off the master cylinder and wire in a toggle switch you leave closed. When you want to have fun just hit the switch, and the dash lights flash and blink like a christmas tree until you turn the engine off and back on. It sets a soft code that goes away when you turn the engine off. Fun mode turns everything off though, not even any fake posi where it hits the brakes on the spinning tire.

I have no idea why you would even consider looking at this
like how retarded do you have to be to even stop scrolling for this
only the most inbred trashy hawaiian would buy this just so they can say they have a 4runner

You don't need anything that fancy. A Kia rio can do 99% what that thing can do.
Rio is heaper on gas too which will really come into play soon because of trumps new war on terror.

I just paid $35k for a 2018 TRD Off road with 64k miles. Pretty sure I got screwed… PO definitely took it off road, it’s got a few scratches and small dents. Interior was pretty clean minus some dog hair that the dealership took care of.

At the least the carfax showed regular maintenance and it came with a year warranty

Youre so right holy shit.
I woke up after my fat colorado dabs wore off and realized this was the most retarded vehicle purchase possible and that I am also retarded.
I went to message the seller to cancel but they had already sold. Burgerland really is doomed.
