I also put new tires on the front.

Fresh bottle of gas and the drivers side floor is like 95% done, just 2 more strips to the rocker panel and it's completely zipped up.Spent the winter mostly just welding the floor and every time I patched somethint up, another hole appeared.Ended up cutting the whole floor off and redid everything, I've now reached the point that no new holes are appearing on the drivers side at least.

Are these things widowmakers, or should I pay the shop $650 to do the springs for me? It'll need an alignment regardless.

>>28872985like any tool that stores a lot of energy, it's up to the user how safe it is. just don't be a retard and it'll go ok. make sure the compressor parts are as even from each other as possible and run one side down a little and then the other side. do that back and forth until you have enough tension to free the shock from the spring. then do all in reverse for the new spring. I have noticed that some spring and shock combos dont need a compressor at all to reinstall the spring.

Question friends. I had an issue with the techs at audi in Sept.(they tossed some items in my trunk, no joke). I now have no VCDS cable to do my rear brakes on my 2012 a8l. The car is mint as I have been the owner since 2013 and I am driving it until it is dead which at this rate will be another 5+ years. I love the car, it is all I really need.Question is. What can I do to reset the major services I recently did like coilpack and timing chain? Also a device that can release my rear calipers... Currently in a legal situation with Audi for them to replace my VCDS cable costs (I bought one off ebay that was dead lmao so secondhand is also a pain right now and they are like $500+). Does anyone know of a bluetooth alternative or android solo device that can ping the service tick boxes and release the rear calipers and do other VCDS-like stuff? Some one said OBD11 but I also see a ton of wrong answers if that would work. I already have a mucar AIO android scanner but it seems incapable of such tasks.I do 95% of my own work and Audi had to fuck me on the 5%. I'll need to plan well since this is a daily driver. 91 Jeep Cherokee AMC 4.0 I6 engine, manual transmission. I cannot tell whether the sound is coming from the fan or the water pump, but it feels like it's one of the two. When the engine is off I can't replicate the sound. If anyone is familiar with the sound or is simply a more knowledgeable mechanic than I am(likely) please let me know what you think it is. I will take and and all advice even tangentially related.

Guy threw in a wiring harness that had been cut at the firing wall. I thought I could get away with the one I already had in the car, but turns out they're different. Spent a good month poring over wiring diagrams, tracing wires, and soldering the two halves back together. The wiring harness is also thickest at the firewall, so I was bound to make a few mistakes. Luckily no damages to the engine, and the only fixes I had to make involved a bad ground and crank sensor plug that was switched with an intake temp plug. Taught me a lot about wiring, and now wiring jobs are not as daunting as they once seemed.>>28883299Depends on how badly you need that scooter. If you're in a crunch I'd get one off ebay. If you want to learn, I 100% recommend you fix it. If you can find a diagram, it'll make your life easier.
>>28883299It's workable. I've had to un-fuck plenty of bodged wiring harnesses, and pretty much anything that isn't corroded to fuck or has the insulation falling off is workable. Worst case, you just cut the bad section out and splice in a new bit of wire. There's not really much going on with your harness, so as >>28883317 says, it's a very good learning experience should you want to fix it yourself. It's quite time consuming, but very satisfying when done right.

But on jack stands I had to drop the back half of the front subrame, put a big ass welding clamp on the thing and pry it so fucking hard I kept lifting myself off the ground instead of prying it. The one side I didn't have it lined up at first and started cross threading it and luckily caught my mistake like right the fuck away. Yanked it back out had to chase the threads in the new control arms lmao. It was a fucking circus but they're in thereOld control arm vertical bushings were literally splitting out and you could feel them popping back and forth through the steering wheel. They sounded like sway bar links every time you hit a bump in the road just fuckin click click clickclick. Now she's tight as a fuckin tiger and I hope I don't gotta change them again for another 25 years lol
