>>28869207Start driving go-karts at age 4 like Verstappen
be fit as fuck to start be ready to be uncomfortable and hot in all that safety gearmy old history teacher was a pit stop crew member, forgot what else he said.
>>28869207If you're old enough to post here it's already too late to go pro in the top levels. You need to have been racing since before you could walk. If you didn't have your first championship by age 8 you'll never get into F1, Indy, Winston Cup, AMA Supercross, WRC, or World Superbike.
>>28869279>be fit as fuck
>>28869279>fit as fuck
>>28869537Peak performance.
>>28869207Invent a time machine and start driving karts at 10
>>28869207Unfortunately, the modern scene has become poisoned and essentially requires you to be born into that life. Gone are the days Chads just rolled up and raced, the nepo nerds corrupted racing so you're forced to either really know a guy or be a prime youth talent candidate and participate in every major amateur circuit available. This has gotten so out of hand that some people (mainly motorcyclists) move to entirely different countries just to have a slim chance at even having a seat at the table let alone eat. You're better off letting go and just enjoy yourself without glory in mind. Find fulfillment from within and set your own personal records on or off track (personally I think everyone should be off track as a means to protest the nepo-nerds influence)
>>28869573>implying racing hasn't always been the preserve of hereditary millionaires.Always been a money game, bro.
>>28869577It's always been a money game, but that came second to racing. Not first. It used to be Win on Sunday, Sell on money.Which is fine and normal and buisness as usual. Now, things are different. I can't say exactly when. Now it's Sell to a sucker on Sunday, win on Monday. The money is put over the spirit of the sport, made a walled garden for the contestants already there. Shutting off 90% of opportunities for new faces because then you don't need to negotiate contracts or sponsors etc. Greed as made automotive sports stale and caterer to the minority at the top not the masses that just so happen to pay the bills and appease up top.
>>28869573Lewis was born poor though
>>28869588It's always a mix of being at the right place at the right time + luck + fuckton of money.Sometimes you can get there by having more of one of those things but even then you need luck.
>>28869550Timo Salonen actually was genuinely peak performance despite being overweight, a chain smoker, and having bad eyesight.
>>28869588Exceptions are not the rule anon, cmon you should know that.Just because it isn't 100% impossible, doesn't mean the game isn't rigged.
>>28869588>just look at this one Cinderella story!>that proves that you can be poor and still find a way!
>>28869588No he wasn't.He was upper middle class at worst. And he also had the most sponsors and the most training of any driver up to that point.
>>28869279>>28869536>>28869537you only need to be fit for formula 1. GT racing has always been about catering to gentleman drivers. im sure there are weight limits though, I cant see someone who is 300+ pounds racing anything other than in an amateur league
