where do y'all buy batteries for your baiks?
wallmart and all the auto parts stores near me don't have my size in stock. should I just order it online and accept my bike is dead for the next week?
>>
>>28871868
There is a local store near me. If you buy online, will they take it back if it is old stock?

absolutely gay that any traffic laws apply to motorcycles let alone speed, I can probably go 0-50-0 in the time it takes a normalfag car to do 0-50

It's the correct attitude with these machines.
Also be the change you want to be, import one.
IMZ somehow managed to get a hold of investors again and started producing parts yet again to keep the old machines on the roads.
>>
>>28871910
Honda will give you NX500 with bold new graphics, Yamahaha will give you a 125 instead. Suzuki will not give you anything. Kawi came out with KLE500, they have KLR and they don't really care if you buy or not. BMW is the only solution.

What's a good sports bike for a beginner (so no i4) that isn't a cucked out 35kw A2 machine? Ninja 650 would be the obvious pick but they are in so much demand that it's almost impossible to get a used one here. Are there any other options? It looks like people haven't discovered the ER6F so it's prices and used availability is pretty good
>>
>>28871972
Satan is the one who brought the concept of automated ticketing a thing.

But sure, pay up. By all means.
>>
>>28872022
cagers deserve every automated ticket coming to them. fuck you for going 10 over in a school zone looking at your phone.
but realistically I'm only a threat to myself so I should get more leeway for speeding
>>
>>28872024
You deserve that ticket just as much as "cagers" do.

Fuck you cukcks, speeding is a victimless crime. Especially on a motorcycle because the only one you're harming is yourself 9/10 unless you highsided into a crowd Mustang-style.
Speed limits were only introduced in the 70s to combat the fuel crisis from the oil embargo. The department of transportation themselves said it doesn't make the roads safer, they literally said "Speed limits do not work"

It's just to generate money now, that's why so many cops are Speed trappers instead of cold case solvers.

/sqt/ isn't answering so here I go.

I am forced to learn electrical work.
>Project bike
>Notice fuse on left (AZ) is melted
Folowing the picture the wire goes from the positive terminal into the regulator rectifier. Does that mean there is an issue between the battery and rectifier or do I have to chase down everything that connects to the rectifier too?
>>
>>28872197
Wrong place to ask, no one here knows fuck about shit, but isn't that just a chink rectifier you can get for like 20 bucks?
>>
>>28872197
Have you taken the side cover off and observed the condition of the Stator? If it's burnt black then it's spent.

Check all connections, sometimes people use the wrong type of connector when installing a new Stator / rectifier and it shorts all the shit.

If I had to guess, I would say your rectifier is shot. It's a common fail point for all 2 wheeled machines (with some modern exceptions due to material science innovations)
>>
>>28871926

I think it's the worst motorcycle released in the last decade. Every part of it is pathetic, I'd rather buy a chink scooter than that.

The V-Strom 250SX looks so good, but 4000km valve clearance intervals are completely insane.

>>28872231
>4000km
>On a bike supposedly built for touring
Damn. You coupdn't even go roundtrip from Sapporo to Kagoshima on that.
>>
>>28872210
My dude, it's literally the best motorcycle of the last decade, for it's market segment. I know people are going to bring up the suspension travel and ground clearance. No one buying one of these is going to jump tabeltops. They're not even going down a gravel road fast enough to need the entire suspension travel on a pothole.

Kawasaki's only sin was their as campaign. The word "rally" shouldn't be in the same zip code as that bike.
>>
>>28872238
Sorry I double checked and it's actually 5000km.
But still, that's nuts. Even RE only has the valves every 12 months. But it doesn't look too hard to do, to be fair.
>>
>>28871908
It's because they aim at the loicense plate

>>28871907

>>
>>28872250
>>28872238
>>28872231

Jeez, as a Honda rider I can't imagine living like this. I hope other makes can improve to come closer to Honda's GOATed service intervals.
>>
>>28872246
"Rally" marketing on middleweight ADVs is exactly the same as for cars, because they're basically the hot hatches of the bike world. The other day I compared the CB500X to the WRX, and I really do think it's true. They're dailyable family sedans with "rally" styling and accessible performance for smooth dirt roads.
>>
>>28872268
>Honda's GOATed service intervals
Sit down
>>
>>28872269
On the other hand, I believed KTM and Kove when they labeled their 620 and 400 rally's, respectively.
>Oh you want a lieght weight dirt missile with a big ass gas tank? Here you go. No, you will not enjoy a single minute seated on either one, so stand up and get going. Sooner you finish, sooner you can sit on something comfortable.

>>
>>28872203
I have not because I cannot find a gasket for the cover yet. Just gonna buy a multimeter and hope for the best right now.
>>
>>28872170
'ku, short for baiku. Baiku is Japanese for motorcycle. It's not baby talk, it's adoption of Japanese style.
>>
>>28872231
Not this one. This one has shims.
>>
>>28872278
Try testing it with the multimeter.

Also friend, you can buy sheets of various gaskets material and cut it to shape (tedious ik, but better than no solution at all)

Check your factory service manual for what the ratings of the Stator/ resistor should be and test. If it's spent then you know your problem.
Also just for good measure check all of the motorcycles grounds, maybe there's a damaged one or possibly touching the frame causing a short to blow the fuse in question. Good luck.
>>
>>28872238
>>28872268
Checked owners manual, it's 5k km for oil change and checking valves. It's not shims I don't think.
>>
>>28872231
Sorry my bad, it doesn't have shims.
>>
Its shim over rocker arm. You listen for noise, at 5k, but you are not adjusting every 5k.
