Yes Toyota has declined but what are you going to get instead? All the other brands are even worse.
an old toyota?

>>28872277>All the other brands are even worseActually the frontier is better
I bought a base model Maverick hybrid awd 4k tow, it seems plenty good I just moved myself without issue using it. $33k new and I'm getting like 37mpg.I like that it's a simple vehicle with not a lot to go wrong or break. It's a little stiff suspension wise for a dd (needs to be to handle the 1500kg payload) but that also makes it feel sporty and handle really well.
I am going to wait for a Mazda I6T truck myself. Also they could do a skyactive 4 cyl and put it in a truck to compete with tacos.
>>28872277A GMT800 2500. The $60k I'll save over buying new will definitely cancel out the 12mpg and potential repairs and maintenance.
>>28872311You saaar are one dumb motherfucker. You clearly have no idea how Ford's business model works.
>>28872311>33k for a base model maverick hybridWhen they came out they were $20k
>>28872406Might as well wait for a modern REPUGive em two more years and they'll have the rx-9 engine sorted
I bought a frontier instead. I love it. My only complaint is I couldn't find it in red.
>>28872445NTA, but can you elaborate?
>>28872301Frontier is severely underrated. But Altimas are looked at differently than Camrys in society so their customer base never grew to "i need a truck, love this car so ill get the pickup version".Its a shame really.

>>28872523I get it. I can't make you like it, especially with Nissans reputation for their other models. I promise though, it's been great so far and very easy to work on from what I've seen. I have looked over it on my 2 post lift and it actually looks like a joy to work on which is a breath of fresh air in todays age.

>>28872523Ford's Ecoboost engines have overall been very good, I can tell you aren't very versed in the half ton segment right now. Ford's 3.5 Ecoboost in particular has proven to be significantly more reliable than any of the Dodge or Chevy offerings.

>>28875434I'm on all the top frontier facebook groups and clubfrontier forums. There are no mass engine replacement threads or discussions and the vq38dd has been out for 7 years now. He's talking out of his ass. In fact, there's less discussion of engine failures with the frontier than anything I've owned including a 8th gen civic.
>>28875441They do have bad brake switches that cause annoying electrical bugs iirc

>>28875971half of those are links to the same 3 or 4 threads. looking at the replies in those threads, at least half of the people who don't have any experience with a DI engine asking if the loud mechanical pump ticking is a bottom end noise while. of the failures that are genuine failures, Nissan isn't giving them much pushback on replacements where short or longblocks are available. get me a number on engine failures because what you posted is not evidence of widespread engine failure issues. you did a targeted search on "engine" + "blown" for the 3.8 and didn't read the result lol.
