The C8 zr1x has ruined straight line racing on the streets for life. Run mid 8's for low 200k usd with warranty.
the C8 originally trivialized super cars in general. Then the Z06 came out, and trivialized all Italian cars by giving you a Ferrari exhaust note while Ferrari switches to V6s.Then the ZR1 comes along and trivialized all hyper cars with an 8 second quarter mile and a 230 MPH top speed.Only the fastest of the fastest offer anything substantial over the C8 now. it did to super cars what the camaro did to entry level sports cars.
Straight line racing is retarded unless you are doing your own tuning anyways. Anything else is just who finds the most expensive shop.
The most fun part about drag racing isn't the race but showing eachother the Dr. Frankenstein shit you did to your cars.
>>28873632>Run mid 8's for low 200k usd with warrantyYou can build an 8 second car for half that and have enough money left over to build it again from scratch when it blows up
>>28873660>Straight line racing is retardedThat's all you needed to post.
>>28873632so youve bought one right?
>>28873632For some reason I always thought that Supra was orange.
>>28873829looks like a different one, the one in FF1 is a t-top
>>28873829OPs pic is from FF2you're thinking of the Supra from FF1
>>28873632No one is showing up to street races in a quarter million dollar car. Plus Tesla ruined straight line acceleration a decade ago. The P85D was leaving supercars for dead on the street in 2015.
>>28873638>Z06 came out, and trivialized all Italian cars by giving you a Ferrari exhaust noteYou say that like it's a good thing. You idiot mutts ruined everything that was omce cool about Corvettes.
>>28873632>on the streets for life.haven't seen any of those new Corvettes on the street racing at all nigga. Plenty of the older platforms though. Video related:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vjbY4VHRC8
>>28873638C8 is an impressive bit of kit, but my GOD it's fucking UGLY. It's like if a Camaro rear-ended a C7 at 500 mph and they fused together into a disproportionate, misshapen frankenstein of a car.Where are all the full body conversions for it anyway? It's baisically a modern day Fiero, you can make it look like anything, including things that don't exist yet. Making your own body panels is easier than ever too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeeOdaIvYOc
>>28873987at least they weren't cucked enough to put a V6 in it. never mind the fact that tremec made a manual for the C8. americans are the only ones trying to keep enthusiast cars alive it seems. europeans just want automatic V6s and 4 cylinders.
>technology advances>"this ruins everything!"Lol.It doesn't even have real awd. The fwd e motor is doing like 190hp peak high rpm and 150ftlb peak low rpm for a 10/90 power split. The car would be even faster if it had 350hp/300ftlb on tap at the front and a mere 850 at the rear.
>>28874092the only thing that would make it faster is if it were purely EV. the only way to get a higher torque split is mechanical AWD, but that would be slower. the car really doesn't need to send more power to the front wheels. it just needs to send enough to aid with traction which is why it already runs 8s as it is.
>>28874013>>28874087All this talk about Fiero and V6, and now I want GM to put their V6 into a shortened C8 chassis and call it a Fiero. Sell it for 50k as people's sportscar.
>>28873632>implying anyone who actually likes cars has 200k for these (except Jay leno)>implying anyone with 200k is going to be street racing>implying the boomers buying these will even drive them instead of sticking them in a bubble>implying even if they do drive them theyll see anything remotely close to a racetrack. And thats how I know OP never leaves his mom's basement. These will exist as an investor item, a shareholder publicity stunt, and a marketing took. These do not exist for car enthusiasts.
>>28874092When your power split caps at 10/90 or 15/85 or whatever it works out to for the vette you're losing potential during the 0.5s of accel after the first 7 or 8 mph.The meat they put on those wheels should be capable of 70% more torque over the e motor it comes with, and that's launch no wheelspin torque, not what would be optimal for the entire acceleration profile.I would really like to see someone change that front motor for one as I described, sacrifice 80lbs or so for a beefier battery, and see what happens.
>>28874291>>28874105Meant for your knowitall ass.
>>28873752>You can build an 8 second car for half thatIndeed. You just have to put in the work. Also, anyone spending $200k on a 'Vette has already lost the race. Buying pre-made performance is not remotely equivalent to building/tuning on your own. It's also a hell of a lot more fun to wrench on your own car.
>>28874013>corvettes are still plastic barbie carshonestly? based
>>28873844>>28873858Thanks Anons. Thought I was going senile.
