What's the best cheap, old car? 1.4L and below. Prefebly 90's
>>
Ford Fiesta Mk3
>>
The one that's for sale near you and that hasn't been run into the ground yet
Make/model doesn't really matter
>>
I haven't looked at the used market for years. What is going on with these prices? Kek
£2,500 less than a Bentley. This piece of crap?
>>
>>28874522
Well I want something quality. If that isn't an oxymoron. I'm sure cheap a good exists. I'd really love a Lada but the engine size is just a tad too big, and they'll probably be expensive do to them becoming a bit of an appreciated classic.

>>28874520
I'll have a look

Twingo, maybe you can find one from 1999 or something if it must be from the 90's. Later ones are better though.
>>
>>28874520
Oh I remember this car, what a horrible machine. I'd get a Polo before this. Thanks for the contribution anyway
>>
>>28874540
The fuck you mean too big?
>>
>>28874543
You don't see many of these around. It doesn't have to be 90's, I don't know why I said that. The 90's mercedes Benz were just sublime. My dream car. I just love that aesthetic but I'm not going to get anything that grand in my wage.

Is the Twingo reliable? Not mad about the style but I'll put it in my list as a last resort if it comes to that
>>
>>28874559
Larger engine sizes, higher insurance and way more petrol consumption

Twingos are go-to poorfag cars for good reason, they're dead simple and even now parts are dirt cheap. Apart from some electrical bullshit and general older car wear and tear there's really not much to break on them.
Just make sure the clutch is good, having a shop change that costs more than the car's worth. Ask me how I know.
>>
>>28874570
Nice! In practical terms this is perfect. I just wish I could find something like that but with more of a classic and quality feel. I'm probably asking too much, maybe it doesn't exist. If it doesn't at least I now know what I'll have to get.
Thanks
>>
>>28874563
Not that anon, but I had one brand new in 97 and it sucked major balls, fucking everything kept breaking down, the electronics died if it went under -20° and in 99 the drivers footwell was just gone, disintegrated to rust.
I fucking hated that thing, only saving grace was the warranty taking up the slack.

Well faggot then just get a Clio.
>>
>>28874585
Haha that sounds like hell. I'll put it down to you just being unlucky and getting a bad one. I trust anon. I just searched online and there's a newer one just after that and it doesn't actually look so bad
>>
>>28874565
Eh? The biggest engine in a Zhiguli is like a 1.7, but you can get them with 1.2 engines too, I don't remember if they came with litre engines too at some point.
>>
>>28874589
I doubt I'd get that for dirt cheap, and also clios are typical girls cars here
>>
>>28874593
You don't understand how poor I am. If I get a 1.7 I'd probably be able to afford to drive it twice a month. No way. I didn't know they made 1.2 models. I'm going to search for one until my Hands are sore
>>
opel corsa
>>
>>28874585
Oh yeah, early ones are rare now because most of them have rotted away. Late model ones have waaaaay better rustproofing including things like galvanized front subframes, I think that was introduced sometime after 2000.
Mine's a 2006, the only real issues it's had in the 5+ years I've owned it now are a dead window regulator, a bad crank sensor, a clutch that I fried and a battery that likes to go flat if it's cold and it's left sitting for more than a week, but mine seems to have been very well maintained.

I did also look at a 2002 (I think) with a friend when he was trying to find a car and that thing was beat to hell, warning lights on the dash, driver's inside door handle didn't work, clutch pedal only went halfway up and so on, so it does pay to seek out a good one.

>Well I want something quality
You are too poor to choose you dumb retard
If you have the choice between a Civic that's on it's last legs or some french/russian shitbox that has some life left in it you HAVE to go with the latter because you can't afford fixing the former

Look what's for sale around, buy whatever car within your budget is in the best condition
>>
>>28874602
That's tied with the Clio as the top 2 girls cars in London. The Audi A1 is replacing them but that's a modern car

>>28874617
Why give me only the worst scenarios, it's hypothetical so you can come up with anything. You're just negative and not very nice fella
>>
>>28874632
Nigga, you're complaining that you can't afford to drive a 1.7 litre Lada, sit the fuck down. You are literally living the worst case scenario if an 80s econobox is outside of your price range.
>>
>>28874510
205, 106/Saxo, Micra, Twingo, Justy, Swift
>>
>>28874617
>You are too poor to choose you dumb retard
This. When you're totally impoverished you need to look for a car that has some life left in it, rather than a specific make or model.
>>
>>28874849
Thanks

>>28874858
You've got a low class mentality. When you don't have money it's even more important to spend a bit extra on something constructed better
>>
>>28874593
I had what could be a great idea. What do think if I go to eastern Europe to buy one? Surely I can get one in alright condition for £1000 over there and somehow get it back to the uk
>>
>>28874510
Mazda 121, Suzuki Swift, Toyota Starlet and Nissan Micra are all really decent 90's little beaters. Usually the parts are very cheap, the engines and everything else is very simple to work on.

it comes in fuel economy trim 1.0l i3 or the spicy trim 1.3l i4

Textbook faggot behavior. Who cares you cock gobbling homo?
>>
>>28875120
These sound like wise choices. I'll check them out. I'm in the hunt for a Zhiguli now, but if that fails, as everything usually does I'll consider one of these
>>
Not being ungrateful but wow those are horrific. I'm convinced no thought of intentional pleasing design could have been considered with the Toyota starlet especially. I think if you approached students in any art school with the assignment they'd actually have a hard time trying to create something that poor.
I struggle to see how stuff like that could be created by a dedicated team of professionals.
We must be getting into the era of when people thought cheap had to be ugly here
>>
In before

>If you want to keep costs low it has to look like this, you don't know what you're talking about
>>
>>28875106
>You've got a low class mentality
You turbonigger, if you can't even afford an ancient commie wagon you're in no position to be saying this. Neither should you be picking and choosing like you are to larp as someone you clearly aren't.
>>
>>28875217
Money or lack of doesn't have any bearing on the amount of class of intelligence you have. You're further exposing yourself as a lobotomite sir, I suggest you quit while you're not too far behind.
How's that larping? If I was larping I'd buy a Bentley and spend all of my disposable income on maintaining it to keep up and appearance.

Silly silly goose!
>>
>>28875220
I hope you get mugged and stabbed on your daily bus ride /n/igger
>>
>>28874537
It's a 3-door cabriolet. All rare bodytypes are expensive, regardless of how much of a shitpile the actual car it.
>>
>>28876332
That doesn't make sense. Different isn't always good.
