choose one
>>
i choose the most expensive one so i can sell it for the most money and buy something good instead
>>
Be brutally honest, when did BMW start making much better cars than Mercedes-Benz and Porsche? They used to be kinda equal

>and Porsche

those graphics are so snazzy. I've only seen one Alpina but it was some late model crossover slop. I saw the wheels first and said "what no way" then I saw the badges

I believe the merc is more reliable

You'd be wrong.

E38 without the ugly wheels
>>
>>28876165
The main reason to buy bmw is for a manual. And the e38 isnt manual. Go w140 for much more power. And a much better built car.
>>
>>28876165
the s-class is better built
the 38 looks better
>>
>>28876165
I rather drive a Chrysler 300
>>
>>28876165
Well, the E38 is a legendarily good driver's car and I've spent the largest part of my life driving BMW E32s, while the S-Class represents a bloated and overweight luxocruiser that was particularly unreliable.

I'm going with the Bimmer.
>>
>>28876165
I'd rather walk, and with those you would be anyway

I'd pick the BMW just because manual, and it looks much better. I've always wanted to drift a long-wheelbase gigantic-engined car, I see that wheelbase and all I can think about is powersliding.

M73 never came in manual, the only manual E38 were the 728i and I think some 730d and 740d came with stick shift too.
>>
>>28876464
a few E38 did come in manual

BMW has a much better reputation in Australia. Good organizationally with a quality dealer network. Many enthusiast service centers. More street cred amongst car people. Wont be trading my Miat though.
>>
>>28876555
Well that is a shame. I'll admit I assumed it was a 740i.
>>
>>28876558
A few w140 came in manual too but nobody cares about the 6 cylinders

Early 90s when Mercedes went into some environmentally friendly design choice. That's when Mercedes stopped really innovating and their interiors fell behind in design, then things got worse by 1998 when they had that shitty onions based wiring that would rot or get eaten by mice within a year and led to mass recalls and abandoning that wiring by 2002 (original intent was for it to breakdown over 20 years since that's when they figured their cars would get recycled). There was also the disaster of water based paint on mid 90s Mercedes too and that lasted until the mid 2000s, which caused a lot of C Class models to develop serious rust issues and fucked up paint work.

It's funny how Mercedes made their best S Class and very worst S class back to back, as the one that followed was an absolute pile of cheap shit.

The bmw honestly looks so much better it's crazy. I don't even like BMWs but it's plain as day.
>>
>>28877103
the mercedes is a 70s design with rounded corners, the bmw is an early 90s design

This is an extremely easy choice, e38 is in top 3 of the best looking bimmers of all time, meanwhile there are plenty of better looking mercs.
