is there a way to electronically disable airbags? or better yet, completely remove them? already did a seatbelt delete, now i just want to get rid of airbags.
>>
Unhook the battery and wait for 10 Minutes, then they should be safe to remove.
>>
if your car's 30 years old they probably don't even work anyway don't worry about it

Question. Why would you want to? What harm is having one doing? Seatbelts, I get, you want to cruise around strapless and not listen to the ding. But airbags are none-invasive until they're needed.

If you're going banger racing the easiest way is to drive the car in to a wall so it deploys, then cut the bag away.

I unironically will be removing mine when I replace the steering wheel with one that quick disconnects. Its a camping vehicle and I want to be able to remove it to get more room to move from the front seat to the back. The air bag doesn't work anyways and the wheel is shot

There are people out there who will refuse to do things just because they're told they have to. Do I have to use a seatbelt? Well now I don't wanna. You know the kind. They will come up with the most retarded excuses like claiming that bouncing around your car unrestrained and getting a faceful of dashboard is actually safer than seatbelts and airbags.

in the case of airbags though i feel like at least for steering wheel airbags, not having one is fine. the 3 point belt will still stop you from eating the steering wheel.

my friend died in a wreck because the air bags went off. if he had been thrown free of the wreck he would have survived. airbags are just like seat belts, they take more lives than they save.

>my friend died in a wreck because the air bags went off
That sucks, are you ok to elaborate on details. If the vehicle ended up submerged and he was trapped as a result you have my sympathies.
>if he had been thrown free of the wreck he would have survived
Unfortunately you don't have my immediate sympathies here, it sounds like mis-adventure. In order to be 'thrown free' he would have had to have been traveling at significant speed and unsecured.

>airbags are just like seat belts, they take more lives than they save.
This is statistically untrue. You're looking for blame in the wrong place.

I actually know a guy with this mentality.
He refuses to wear a seat belt because "he knows a guy that was paralyzed by a seat belt but he would have walked away from that accident if he hadn't been wearing it".
There is no arguing with these morons. Let them self-delete.

yes, you just unplug them
>or better yet, completely remove them
yes, you remove them

Just make sure you set it off before you dispose of it.

Sitting on it gives you a real ejector seat experience. Don't just don't.
