daily ausfag thread - felcon sadam edition
I always thought hot hatches were choice for a very particular kind of people
>>28879263Nope. You're going to see goofballs in any sort of car.
>>28879263They're beaut in comparison to the endless boring SUV's
>>28879263Either all redditor types, low test balding 30 something year old men, or broccoli head zoomers.
how'd old mate go with his head stud?
How hard is it to get old Jag bits in Straya? I kinda wanna get an old XJ6, like a series III or something
>>28880114They've always been sold here and there's people who get parts in. Don't imagine they're cheap and there's not a lot of things out there more expensive than a cheap jag
Is the Ute thing just a meme or do you guys actually drive them?
>>28880364i have one and drive it all the time. theyre based
>>28880364i drive one every day
>park car on the street/council verge >faggot neighbour walks past and punches the wing mirror and breaks it i seen him do it today kek but i didnt realise what he was doing untill i went back out just now and saw it broken
>>28880364a ute is basically just a pickup truck but smaller
>>28878977Why dont the police persecute people who drive like niggers?Tailgating?Weaving through traffic?Overly bright headlights? No lets go after people who go slightly over the speed limit in situations that hurt no one.
>>28880364I don't know why americans think a ute is a special kind of car. A ute is just our word for a pickup truck.
>>28880434ive seen so many people the last few weeks driving around with their high beams on all the time, even in the city or on the freewayeither that or they havent got their headlights on at all
>>28878977>EU trade deal ‘imminent’ after fresh talksthere goes 5% tarrif and possibly LCT
>>28880473if it really does go through...never thought i'd live to see LCT abolished...
>>28880099Good memory.Actually got onto it just this arvo, life has been busy. Used a thick wall keysert and it all torqued up sweet. So threw the timing set on and its gucci
>>28880557Nice monkey car in the background
Who is cb400 anon?
>cost of living getting so high i cant afford car parts atm i need a new job
>>28881310elevator servicing and fitting pays pretty damn well. pretty hard to get into though, quite a niche industry.
any anons here that have a car with 5-3/4"/146mm sealed beam housings, if you want a decent H4 conversion housing, toyota sells a kit for both H4 and H1 bulbs:H4: 90981-08H12H1: 90981-08H15you only need one of each - each kit comes with two housings. harass your local toyota dealer, or buy them from amayama. They're about 40-50 bucks per kit from amayama, for OEM quality 20-25 bucks per housing is incredibly cheap, especially considering that they also include the bulbs in both kits. Mind you, the bulbs are for 24V systems so either chuck them out or resell them on marketplace or something, then replace them with your own 12V bulbs.Dealers will probably be 60-70 bucks guessing on the typical price differences between amayama and dealers for other parts.
>>28881310I need like $4000 worth of shit to get my Landcruiser up and going again>new battery>new rotors and pads>new tyres>Downgrade to a 2" lift kit because 3" is illegal now >LPG system serviced, possibly removed altogether
>>28882796>LPG system serviced, possibly removed altogetherMay not be a good time to remove it. People are talking about petrol rationing in Oz right now.
>>28880434Anarcho-Tyranny, look that one up
>>28881635It has its ups and downs. The doors are closed for a lot of people though.
>>28883518also if you're in syd, there's quite a few servos still selling lpg. and it's like $1.10 per litre lol.>>28883555god DAMNIT CARLOS
>>28883518I want to see how well it goes after a service first, the previous owner installed it and I never used it because it would conk out every time I let off the accelerator.
p10 bump
>>28882791Oh shit I reckon they'd work on E30's as well.
thoughts on the new hilux br/o/s?
>>28880364If you're refer to the classic Holdens and Fords from 10+ years ago, they're nostalgia larp machines now. They used to be properly used by tradie but they've been long since replaced with things like the Ford Ranger.
>>28887439I reckon they'll make a comeback if diesel keeps going the way it's going. Really the only advantage a single cab Hilux or Ranger has over a Falcon ute is the ability to go off road and a higher towing capacity. The payload on the Falcon is about the same.
>>28887456>V6 and V8 petrol guzzling utes will make a comeback during a fuel crisis
>>28887461For tradesmen, yes. They'll get LPG utes, which were a thing when we actually had local production.
what are all the p plater dual cab turbo diesel retards doing right now? are we going to see these fuckwits selling up and buying 3 cyl hatches?
>>28887483Probably stealing it. People fueling up and driving off went up by 170% or some shit within 2 weeks of the price hike.
>>28887399anything that takes the 5.75" standard sealed beam will take that, but do check how much clearance you have directly behind the lamps for the connector, wiring etc.You can get cheap aftermarket ones from retail stores that have glass lenses, but they're only a few bucks cheaper so you might as well shell out for these. Plus, the aftermarket ones are apparently chinese knockoffs of an actual decent housing that may potentially throw the light pattern into oncoming traffic, but from what I can see they don't seem to do that. The little tabs that align them in the bucket are kind of lopsided though, so the lens looks a bit slanted compaerd to the rest of the car.I dunno how popular 24V bulbs are in the 4WD/offroading community but these toyota ones do come with a bulb in each housing, so you could probably sell them to get some of your money back.
>>28887404People are getting them through their salary deal at work.Imo they're ugly, especially with a bullbar. But what's worse is how cheap they look. Plasticy as fuck.Havent sat in one though.
>>28887483That would actually be good so it won't happen.
>>28887776They look like a cheap chinese EV. How could Toyota fuck up so horribly.
So im buying a falcon on gas, if these fuel prices keep up it will pay for itself in a few months. Luckily I live in a part of australia where LPG is still readily available.I'm thinking ba or bf.
>>28880542welp. lct not abolished lol. it just has a new category that doesn't apply to yuro EVs under 120kalso oil prices dipped a bit but ofc the fuel companies sure as shit keep the servo prices steady
>>28887810i like how the govt says it'll everything to handle the fuel crisis...except for cutting the fuel tax of course lmao. hands off tbeir paychecks
>>28889522That and ACCC doing jackshit about price gouging. The price ramped up within 3 days of it all starting (long before a drop of that oil could even reach any refinery in the world) and the ACCC decided "nothing we can do bro, sorry". I sure wish I could teleport fresh fuel to my town instantly like all the other stations seemed to do.
>>28889530radio news bulletin just said that the accc is getting more powers in response to allegations of price gouging. then they played back some minister saying>petrol companies. you. are. on. notice.LOL. will be very surprised if anything actually happens
>>28887810They tend to be a bit fucky as the convertor is kept operational as its tied into the coolant system, so if they don't get enough flow they freeze up. Also do a vacuum check on everything to make sure its not leaky and for some reason they tend to eat sparkplugs so check through the ignition system as well (leads, plugs, compression test while you're there and coil packs)Apart from that, its a falcoo and usual ford things
My usual station is completely out of fuel, e10, 91, 95, 98, diesel, all out.So much for "there is no fuel shortage".
>>28889882Depends on how rural you are. If you're within 2 hours of a major city, you're usually going to be fine. I have managed to see diesel run dry in a few places but I suspect trucks and tradies are to blame for that one, along with signs saying they don't allow jerry cans.
>>28889885I'm in Sydney north shore. Lots of stations in the western suburbs were running dry but none in the north, this week though they numbers have been stacking up. Haven't ever once seen an out of order pump in all of north sydney unless it was actually broken, not because of empty tanks.
I fucking hate yank tanks
>>28891392we talking stuff like ram 1500s or vintage/classics?
>>28891399Rams are starting to not even look clownish compared to silverados
>>28891392American truggs are based and I'm tired of pretending they're not. We have a big country and we need big vehicles instead of the lil Euro cuck cars we've had all this time.
>>28891465Yeah but every single country road is barely wide enough for two little nipboxes, let alone a single American truck
>>28891488They're starting to widen country roads, at least in my state and area. Some really rural roads are even becoming actual roads instead of just stone and dirt.
I want everyone who kept saying "Australians don't want big gas guzzling cars" back when the Falcon and the Commodore died to have each of their arms and legs tied to a Dodge Ram and be torn to pieces in a four way powerskid
>>28891490>just stone and dirtaww no more strayan pikes peak larping
>>28891465They're pure faggotry and unaustralian as fuck.Seriously of all the cultures you could ape you choose american white trash?People in the country don't even buy them, its mainly bald faggots on the fringes of sydney.
what kind of steering system do rhd silverados and rams use? steering box or rack and pinion?
>>28891675>Seriously of all the cultures you could ape you choose american white trash?so you want what? bri'ish culture instead? need a loicense for that m8
>>28891688That would unironically be better
>>28891701>person that complains about nanny state wants more nanny state
>>28891675>>28891701I want to love my country but its spastics like these that confirm my suspicion that the goyim really have gone insane.
>>28891749but anon think of the CHILDREN.
>not sucking off yanks is considering goyim behaviourI've heard it all now
>>28891807Seeing as a lot of our best parts are reminiscent of American culture I find it foolish to pretend they have no place in Australia.
>>28891807>sucking off brits and their loicense culture is betterfag
>>28892844>fagIt's poof you yank wannabe
>>28892888boomer fag
>>28892891zoomer poof
>>28892898poofag
>>28891749America is the most jewish owned country outside the middle east.
>>28891882Yeah, I love that Yankee style RWD muscle culture. Fuck England and all that Pommy trash
>>28891882Like?
>>28892944our locally built cars looking like american ones but sized for aussie roadsalthough back then the big three offered a US model converted to RHD as their highest tier offering.
>>28892952The culture that built up around australian cars was pure shit. Same old cunt antics as you got in the US.
>>28892956You feel like an engagement bot.
>>28892956It wasn't always shit, for a very long time people liked their Holden, Ford and Valiants for being reasonably priced, locally built cars.Just that when you'd turn up at a car meets and all the Holden/Ford 'fans' tended turn up in their Landcruisers and Patrols, didn't own one of them even as a do-er upper, it was kind of all over
>>28892969>4WDs going to car meetsShit that never happened
>>28878977Can anyone here translate ebonics?
>>28892971it saysur a faglol!
>>28892956It only got shitty in the much later years when it got taken over by bogans. Before that Commodores and Falcons were the every man's car and everyone's dad had one, but by the late 2000s they were considered bogan because that's who started being the loudest about them. It's strange to think there was a time where these were cars executives and professionals would drive, my dad got a VT for work in the first model year and it was the coolest thing I'd ever been in.
>>28892956umm ok. that doesn't sound like a US-specific problem though. i just like the styling of the cars
>muh British vs America bullshitGod this is so fucking gay
>>28893741Americans are subhuman
>>28893772Do you not think we have bigger problems than being able to buy a truck?
Just make diesel yourself, cunt.
>>28892942as opposed to fwd muscle
>>28894059God I want a truck with the kind of rattly old dependable diesel they put in trains.
