>>28881034Posting my GD3. I love this stupid little car so much. No mods. Just a gd3 5 speed. Very fun to drive. It was $1200 and has 125,000 miles on it.
Saw a guy riding a unicycle, fucking douchebag.>>28881157R50 Mini wheels?
>>28881399yeah, but the previous owner painted them black in the centers. I'm going to paint strip them sometime this weekend to get them back to an OEM+ look. Still looking for proper honda logos for the centers too
>>28881399Spongebob ass cyclist lmao
Ordered a 6-speed manual back in January, plan was to eventually convert my CVT 10th gen to a manual. Thing never shipped and eBay was more than willing to give a refund. Thank fuck
>>28881034I miss 90s Honda :-(
>>28882154What's the point? Just get an Si or an R, there is literally no reason to manual swap a newer civic.
>>28884683Because the Si was never available as a hatchback and the R is too expensive. Tbh it's starting to look like the more viable option is to just get an Si off of Copart and just grab everything off of it that I need
>>28884751Yes.
>>28884676Super Taikyu starting now. Very cute Fits.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiMRZeAPETY
>>28881034as a nocarzfag Im planning to have pic rel as my first car, how retarded is this idea, commute from home to work is through metropolitan area, traffic heavy, and I still know how to drive a manual
>>28885496>first carYou will scratch it. Why wouldn't you just get an old early to mid 2000s Civic instead? Is this some stupid American 'keeping up with the Joneses' shit?
>>28885496my old man WILL insist to get a bnew one since he's the one paying, I already floated the idea of buying used and he turned his nose away immediately, im just asking around for a general consensus of sort for this particular model
>>28885496if I were you I'd get a soulful shitbox
>>28885613Yeah fuck it, if your pops is paying then get that shit
>>28885496Hondas aren't known for being economical. Especially the Type-Rs, they're sports cars first and foremost. Having that as your first car is lucky on the one hand - we were all kids once - but retarded on the other. Nothing wrong with it as a vehicle, but you need to build your way up to fast cars, not just jump into one without having any real road experience. You will almost certainly crash it. You've been warned.
>>28885629? gayhondas are literally economy cars and the type r[ice] isn't a sports car lol
>>28885632Hondas are based, Anon
>>28885629>Hondas aren't known for being economical. Especially the Type-Rs, they're sports cars first and foremost.most of the dealers I saw have it in the 60k range, talking about the type r here
>>28885639>60kHow fucking rich are you that 60k is a small amount of money?
>>28885644>How fucking rich are youquite the opposite, 60k is already far outside my budget
>>28885635>fag-wheel drive>4cylinderlets and no STRAIGHT 6 or V8 Yeah that isn't "based" at all
>>28885645I'm confused. I said Type-Rs are sports cars and you replied with a 'no', as if to imply they're not 'real' sports cars because they're too cheap. I'm reading too much into your reply I think. Then again reading this thread highlights the US vs Euro/UK divide. I bought my first car outright - a used CL7 Accord with 80k miles - for £3.5k and did all the work on it myself. Yanks on the other hand will always buy new for tens of thousands, and it's seen as normal to be in debt. Here the only people who buy new cars are the wealthy, i.e., upper middle class. For a first car here it's expected to buy a shitty 1.2 litre Ford Fiesta or something like that for under a grand. Then you 'graduate' to bigger engines and nicer things as time goes on. To start with a new sports car is unheard of unless it's financed to absolute shit and your relatives have a dark complexion.
>>28885655I just meant the marked up pricetag from the dealership is all, and since this is the honda generals I might as well ask here about the actual car itself
Neighbor bought a new car, he's getting rid of his old one. It's a 1998 Honda CRV. Runs, drives reliably. Needs new wheels, tires, brake pads, rotors, battery (it starts and runs perfectly fine but had to use a jump pack). interior pretty clean considering the mileage and it was his daily driver. Helps he wasn't a smoker. 280k miles. Guy is asking $350 but I'll have to take it away with a trailer/tow truck. The amount of wearable items it needs is reason why he ended up just going out and buying a new CRV. Near 300k miles is heavy imo, but he's had this vehicle since new and has changed the oil every 3k miles, flushed the trans every 20k. I already priced out how much it would be to get it road worthy again>top tier battery so I'm not stranded somewhere$280>5x brand new steel wheels because his are scuffed and bent up$250 (including spare)>5x brand new tires that aren't Chinesium garbage $500 for 5 Hankook or whatever on sale tires that are $100 a pop all seasons from a name brand>Powerstop front rotors and pads$100 (rockauto)>Powerstop rear drums and pads$150 (rockauto)>new plugs$50>synthetic oil and filter change because I don't want to be changing my oil every 3k like him$70 ish depending on what's on saleAll in I'd be looking at sub $2k for a car that runs and drives with all brand new wearables. My only concern is the high mileage. At almost 300k miles, does it have much life left in it if there's no signs of any problems or broken shit?
>>28885674>At almost 300k miles, does it have much life left in it if there's no signs of any problems or broken shit? There will be stuff like seals and bushings going out at that age, but if the engine has good compression and the transmissions shifts well id go for it If you buy it and think it'll need more work than anticipated you can get well over 350 buy selling some trim pieces and parts on eBay and scrapping the rest. No brainer to me
>>28885655Wish I could buy a low mile TSX for $8k
>>28885840that's what I figured as well. This guy having bought the vehicle brand new is really big on taking it to the dealer for any work it's needed over the years so he has a well documented history for it. Nothing leaks, motor isn't misfiring, runs cool, quiet, no check engine lights and the scanner didn't pull any codes. Like you said I figure I could always pull the new stuff I bought for it asnd get 75% of the money I spent on it them back and still make close to double what I paid for the vehicle alone. Here's to hoping I can get half a million miles out of this thing.
Do I buy a 2026 Civic or wait for the next generation, which supposedly is either later this year or next.
>taffeta white slicktop em1Aussies do not suffer>>28885942Wait until the new gen hits the dealer and save on a 2026
>>28885994>new gen hits the dealer and save on a 2026Based Aussies, America is basedpogging over 25 year old JDM cars that they've been ripping the shit out of for years.
>>28885889You want to buy my high mileage one? I kind of want to sell it. Manual with a hondata. 251k miles
>>28886021No.
>>28886042Dam
I've had a crx si and a v6 accord, now I ride pilot and I love it, especially on long trips
>>28886081Stay comfy, Anon.
>>28886081Do the seats all fold pretty flat?Do you think it would be suitable for setting up a full sizeair mattress inside for 2 people to "camp"?
>>28886184Definitely. I have 2nd gen They fold flat. Shits got 200k and everything thing still works perfect, got it for 1500, all mantinence done. I haven't even disabled the VCM since it's given me no problems yet. They're cheap to find all the time, seats are super comfy too
>>28886214I wanna put 22s on it ngl
>>28886184Imagine having sex in a Pilot oh my god
>>28886219DICK REAL BIG>>28886220I used to sleep in my crx for 6 months was homeless for a sec
>>28886223No shame in that, I once slept in a B13 sentra when I was little because my parents make poor life decisions
>>28886226I had to sleep sideways with the stick in-between my legs and under the e brake, it was the only way to do it
>>28886262Sleeping in a small car sucksUsed to sleep in my 99 civic road tripping and that would have sucked if I was a foot shorter. Can't imagine a crx
>>28885655hell yea, bought my first car last year an 06 cl7 with 167k km.its all what i have hoped for but the paint on it is such bullshit
>>28886523Bigger bullshit is the magnesium case when the Euro R's is aluminum.
OEM engine filter is $30 damn.. alternative on Amazon is only like $14 ...Is it a bad idea to buy offbrand engine air filter? It's OK to cheap out on cabin filter right? I did buy the cheap version on that.
>>28886745Cheap air filter is based, I run ecogard.Autozone cabin and engine filters on my CM and it runs like a beast and has the cold A/C, so cold in fact that the condenser heatsoaks and the car becomes a slug on a hot day due to all the A/C drag when I blast it.
>>28886745>>28886775
>>28886722What is wrong with the mag case? Mine seems ok at 250k miles
>>28887128You sure it's still the og case and not an alloy one off a CM?
i got used 2009 honda fit yesterday and the tpms light already came on, the air station i took it too said 3 were over pressure and one was under pressure. should i be afraid?
>>28887370nigger what? Who cares about your tire pressure monitoring. Just buy a tire pressure gauge and put them all at 32 yourself. How do you not know how to do this? Do you need your hand held on filling up the tank, too? Please for the love of all that is good at least tell me you got a manual and not the automatic.
>>28885889220k km wanna buy ? :D
>>28887268It has MG stamped into the casing so I am assuming it is the original.
>>28887997No.>>28887999Lucky.
2008 si
Honda Element owners built different
I want a CRV with an expected life span of 200k miles without surprise failures while maintained accordingly. I don’t want to replace a turbo or trans for thousands and I don’t want a hybrid. It needs to have less than 30k miles. Which gen do I buy
>>28888715Buy any one of them with a 2.4L engine, so we're talking 2002 to 2019 model CR-V before they facelifted it in 2020 and made it 1.5 turbo only.
>>28888699Those rotors still have years of life in themSad to see how wasteful some can be
>>28888699Fucking normalfags will destroy the pads and rotors and put everyone's life at risk before downshifting the gears for engine braking going downhill because rpm scawwy
>be me>07 accord ex-l 6-6 sedan>350k km, every jack point rotted out, cab corners and wheel arches peeling away, double fister sized hole in rear wheel well going through floor, exhaust fucked>not a spec of clear coat exists, even on the replacement hood>original timing belt + clutch. >my dumbass stuck a can of stop leak when my radiator cracked middle of the night to get me home and likely fucked the heater core as the windows will defrost but barely heat comes out unless I keep it in the goldilocks zone>find out it's actually a hybrid after last oil change ended up just being a top up>power steering has finally shit. it's ruined every other shitbox for me. I'm eyeing up a stick is250 for cheap but my autism yearns for a third accord
>>28889515You know what must be done, Anon.
>>28888720>want awd>only 1.5sShit sucks
Sidewall tore on on of the tyres. What do?
>>28889803replace it asap
>>28889849I asked warranty, the shop owner is a friend. He told me to get fucked. Looks like I need to buy new tyres.
>>28889515>original timing beltIf that's true I got a bridge to sell you. Even pushing a timing belt to 100k miles is sketchy.
>>28889964My first car (99 civic) before I knew about that stuff ran the original belt to 160k milesUnfortunately it was also the original water pump so the head gasket blew and I sold it for parts
>>28889758aislop
Ef spotted
>>28890208Lel the not poor car
>>28889758soulless
>>28890519Based K20C engine, I was at the 2026 California Honda meet and they had a Type R swapped Odyssey, and it looked like an OEM job.

>>28892585Imagine autocrossing that legendary mfhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-w_8IrnWxM
I changed my starter last year and a few months after the stupid knock sensor went. Now that it isn't super cold I finally got all the lights off (and got back a few mpgs because of the sensor)Feels so good
>>28893917Nice Anon, knock sensor is so annoying when it goes out on K24
>>28893920It would have been nice if they went at the same time. It is annoying trying to snake my hands and ratchet through the 4 inch gap from pulling back the intake mani, especially with a stupid ass giant 27mm socket on the end
>>28893923That's fucking horrifying but I'm glad you got it done, I paid over $600 4 years ago for that
>>28893933>I paid over $600 4 years ago for thatHoly shit dude, just the sensor? Was it at a dealer?I think the (aftermarket) sensor was $40 and $6 for the socket. Maybe 120 for oem?Even in an apartment lot you can fairly easily do this on a cm/cl in an hour or less
>>28893943It was an OEM senor form the dealer, the CEL was on, they had it on hand, and I needed it fixed because the car would make a horrible pinging sound when you revved it to 5K, the job could've been made cheaper with aftermarket parts but I didn't want any comebacks since the original one did go 18 years, 5 months, and 144,000 miles.
>>28893951>I didn't want any comebacks since the original one did xxxDefinitely a valid concernI figured 40 minutes and some discomfort was worth that risk in my case.I should have gotne for the oe sensor, but napa had it in stock same day only 7$ more than rockauto so rolling the dice was worth it
>>28893964If you do work yourself aftermarket stuff from the parts store is an absolute winner because you get a lifetime warranty on a lot of stuff, but when you're wrenchlet you have to buy once cry once, so buy OEM stuff when it's reasonable, or pay a shop markup to get an actual 2 year unlimited mile warranty, so that you're not wanting to kill yourself should something be dead out of the box, or die shortly after because parts are really kinda garbage these days.
>>28893965You can diy it yourself broJust remember right tight-ey and left loosey
Anything made before 88 and after 09 is gay
>>28893973I fucking despise working on cars Anon, I've been doing power steering fluid myself where I suck it out and pour new fluid in, battery when I need it, and more recently serpentine belt when I need it because you're spending $18 to fix the car instead of $200, but anything where the car needs to be lifted into the air, I am not doing it, with my luck I will drop the car on the ground or myself and it's the only one I've got, maybe if I had a bunch of shitboxes, I'd maintain them myself but I cannot have downtime on this this car which is currently leaking oil from the vtec solenoid yet again and leaving a puddle everywhere I go.
>>28893980I get it, car work sucks to doThe vtec solenoid stuff was a pain in the ass to do too. I had to do my pressure sensor up there a while back. Thankfully no leaks thoughI do have 2 shitboxes thankfully, but I almost never drive my mr2
Crossed over the 80k mile mark in my FK7 yesterday, everyone who says the turbo L15Bs pop their head gaskets by then is a lying sack of shit. Most of this has been spent with a tune and driving aggressively.
