There is no inscentive for China to NOT produce straight to landfill EVs to stockpile batteries while the lithium is still cheap, disguising it as economic growth while they are at it. When lithium becomes oil 2 proper, only then they'll start parting these landfills out, reusing the good cells and recycling the rest, by then recycling will be much cheaper than virgin lithium and they'll have an advantage. They don't care about cars or economics, they care about having a stockpile and destroying everyone who is not han chinese.
