will this ever end? or will cars get bigger and bigger until they no longer fit the existing infrastructure?

You're the same guy who complains new half tons are too big because you don't really look at dimensions, you just look at the car and think it's bigger because the beltline is higher. If you look at the numbers, the new prelude is only a few inches wider than the old one but almost the exact same length and height.

The belting being higher is what makes it look like ass. Also nutrucks are fuckhuge. They're as tall as my 20 year old F150 on 35s with a 2" leveling kit yet have 6+ inches less ground clearance so old people can get in without having to lift their legs up. They look like a fucking wall going down the road.
>>
>>28881896
>i-it's only a little bit bigger
So? Over 200lbs more weight and it looks like a prius mixed with a 4th gen eclipse (ugly). The old one is gay because it's FWD and slow, at least it looks kind of cool. This one is FWD, slow, pigfat, and ugly.

Why do you think kei cars are so popular in Japan, and before you can register a car in Tokyo you have to prove that you own dedicated parking spot for your vehicle within 2 km of your residence ?

You must submit documents—including proof of ownership or a landlord’s consent—to the local police station

The prelude was nothing more than an accord coupe with a body kit so yeah it makes sense its the same size as an accord.

It is regulations you retard. It takes a shitload of work to make a small car abide by them.
>>
>>28881985
yeah but also manufacturers have said that customers prefer bigger cars so they make them bigger intentionally.
>>
>>28882007
You're actually retarded for believing them lol
>>
>>28882017
if consumers didn't prefer bigger cars, why didn't they buy shit like the Mirage when it was on sale as the cheapest car in america?

This, customers are retarded.
>Know coworker has long commute about 80 miles a day
>Complains about his jeep being hard on gas
>Tell him to get a civic or something so he can save money on fuel
>Fucker shows up to work some time later with a 4cyl turbo Silverado
>Guy was excited saying it was only a 4 cylinder and he was still gonna save money on gas and drive a truck
>Almost immediately complains that he gets barely any better fuel mileage than his jeep

Anyone who shills cars made past 2014 aren't real car enthusiasts/mechanics and are just tourists in a delusional fantasy. Essentially these "people" are unabashed suckers, they even take pride in being a sucker. Boasting about overpaying for inferior products that aren't built to last. Personally I blame I-phone cultists for bleeding over into everything else.

They deserve 0 respect
They deserve 0 consideration
They deserve 0 of your time
Nothing you say will change their twisted perspective
Nothing you do will alter their terrible opinions

Just let them rot, don't even engage with them and most certainly do not bail them out when they realize the consequences of a disposable rolling digital smart house.

People don't make car purchases based on utility. That's post hoc reasoning. He just wanted a new shiny car, and he wanted le truck for image.

My youngest car is 25 years old this year. I bought it not because I wanted it but out of necessity. Now I know it was a better decision than if I were able to afford something new in 2018.

>>28881905
Ironically, the ND was praised for somehow not being much larger or heavier than the original, so while it's possible to do, your example is an outlier.

>>28885564
>muh safety
Unironically the only regulations that make cars bigger. Mostly because it's the easiest way to do it. If manufacturers could legally make tin cans to meet emissions regulations, they would.

wanna bet 2026 Miata has better safety than 1989 Miata despite being the same size and weight?
