post your valid VW hate
>retarded engineering
>terrible electrics
>can't do shit without a computer
>costs more than the competitor while offering a worse owners experience than those competitors
>unreliable
>parts are either nonexistent or cost an arm and a leg
>cobbled together in Mexico
>nightmare to work on (thank you Audi!)
>supposed to be an "economy" brand but ends up being a money pit
All the hate and criticism of volksfaggen in 100% deserved. For almost 80 years they've been building nothing but scrap heaps and the 1.9tdi. No wonder they're gone bust.
>>
>>28883127
Literally every point you make is a lie. If the production quality of chinese cars is as bad as the quality of your paid chinese propaganda lies, then mercy be upon all of us.
>>
>>28883136
*PAID SHILL HAS ARRIVED*
Where did I mentioned chink cars, retard?
>be (you), a retard
>want a comfortable car with good quality
>fall for the "german engineering" meme
>cant afford a merc, cant afford a beemer
>buy a fucking VW of all things
>plastic water pump explodes
>timing chain stretches
>every single electrical accessory fails
>go to dealership, they tell you to undress and bend over
>try to sell it, nobody wants your shitheap
>try to fix it, can't even get parts
FUCK OFF with your bullshit
>>
>>28883147
>where did I mentioned
Yep, VW rager-baiter is ESL. I never tire of this rerun episode.
>>
^ ragebait and im not falling for it
>>
>>28883147
No, I mentioned Chinese cars because there is no way you are anything other than a paid Chinese shill. I mean, this is Banqiao Dam failure tier of shitty bait.

>want a comfortable car with good quality
So a VW Golf Mk7 which objectively is of good quality.
>fall for the "german engineering" meme
Not a meme.
>cant afford a merc, cant afford a beemer
Goalpost status: Moved.
>buy a fucking VW of all things
You keep repeating yourself. Typical for shills. They get this hammered in in their shilling seminars that repetition works.
>plastic water pump explodes
Every car has weaknesses, this is literally the best weakness you could possibly have.
>timing chain stretches
This was a intemittent problem for Golf Mk6 and has long since been solved.
>every single electrical accessory fails
That's a completely made up lie with no factual basis whatsoever.
>go to dealership, they tell you to undress and bend over
That's a completely made up lie with no factual basis whatsoever.
>try to sell it, nobody wants your shitheap
That's a completely made up lie with no factual basis whatsoever.

You need to tell your handlers at the Chinese Communist Party that they need to start to train you people on cultural specifics about the target demographics you want to use for your shilling. You literally stand out like a sore thumb.

0/10, probably the worst attempt at shilling in the entire history of 4chan(nel).
>>
>>28883136
Shill spotted opinion discarded.

If VW was so good? Why did they commit the largest engineering scandal for their emissions ?

Sounds like sloppy engineering needed a cover up to get them units out the door.

Fuck VW. Fuck German cars as a whole aside from a tiny handful of rugged built ones that you can't get anymore.
>>
>>28883158
This nigga is unironically defending PLASTIC cooling systems.

What a fucking joke, you should feel ashamed for even remotely associating yourself as a car enthusiast. You're just a sucker buying disposable slop instead of works of engineering integrity.
>>
>>28883165
>This nigga is unironically defending PLASTIC cooling systems.
Yes. And? Any comeback from you? No? Then my statement stands.

I had a low mileage Passat sedan from '08. The ride was nice but man did every part of the car just break down for no reason at all. Doors that would remain locked, random warning lamps, faulty seat belts, faulty parking brakes etc etc. It wasn't worth it. I sold it. Design wise it was a 10/10 though.
>>
VW Golf is the most overpriced joyless ass ugly shitbox in the world.
>>
>>28883174
You can appeal to scrutiny all you like, doesn't change the fact you're shilling an inferior design choice.

You are the very poison that pollutes the automotive industry. Had suckers like you never existed, we would never have fucking cooling systems melt themselves to death because they can't hold up against intense tempatures and pressures over the longevity of a vehicle.

Thermostats are a service item, not an entire fucking cooling assembly.

You deserve everything coming to you.
>>
>>28883223
>we would never have fucking cooling systems melt themselves to death

that's not what happens, they dryrot/age out and crack

and its purely because cars run higher coolant temps and are forced to warm up faster for emissions/fuel economy reasons. plastic also weighs less.

bmw ruined plastic for cooling systems permanently notice how every other car company the worst they get is a cracked/leaking expansion tank or radiator after 100,000 miles/10+ years
>>
>>28883223
>You can appeal to scrutiny all you like, doesn't change the fact you're shilling an inferior design choice.
But you haven't even established that "fact". You just claimed it without proof or evidence.
>You are the very poison that pollutes the automotive industrblablablablablabla
This is meaningless rambling. Literally a porch boomer in a rocking chair 3 whikey sours in.
>Thermostats are a service item, not an entire fucking cooling assembly.
What the fuck are you rambling? Are you drunk?
>You deserve everything coming to you.
You are really a masterclass in convincing people aren't you
>>

>>costs more than the competitor while offering a worse owners experience than those competitors
Oh yeah? What new hatchbacks can be had for the price of a new Polo GTI with better specs, or lower price?
>>
>>28883219
>golf
>overpriced
Just how poor are you. Honestly bus-tier.
>>
>>28883315
Did I say it was expensive? A cheap car can still be overpriced.
>>
>>28883606
>with nothing to back it up
Yeah you're simply retarded like the OP.
>>
What's the point of arguing about reliability here when the only example you retards always latch onto is some boring soulless Toyota that does absolutely nothing exceptional and is the very antistasis of an enthusiast car?
>>
>>28883219
The MK2 was basically a front wheel drive Mercedes-Benz. Those who have owned West German car will know what I'm talking about. It's all downhill from there.
>>

*antithesis
>>
>>28884391
>boring soulless Toyota
As if the Celica, Supra, MR2, XRS, etc don't exist. LOL
>>
I know they have a reputation of being unreliable money pits but I still see a shit ton of these guys driving around, and I don't mean the 2011-2019 ones; I even see a fair number of 98-05 ones from before the facelift
>>
>>28883127
I've never really had a problem with my VW. Now granted I just lost the oil pan but now I have a metal one, installed quick and easy.

The emission scandal is why I got a VW because fuck emission standards.

Just admit you're hater and got a bad car with so many problems and are just jealous VW owners are having a good time. Must own a Honda.
>>
>>28883149
>VW rager-baiter is ESL.
Germany is ESL.

>(plastic water pump) is literally the best weakness you could possibly have.
I stopped reading this thread right around here.
>>
Don't think there are any car companies left on this planet that don't engage in planned obsolescence, so don't buy expensive socks if you have to change them often anyway
>>
>>28886260
VW was too smug to dump their own pump-nozzle diesels in time and switch to common rails like everyone else.
These are shitty engines overall.
Whenever I see a small car smoking like hell, it has a VW (group) logo on its back.
>>

Who the fuck are these retards, who the fuck ever said a Passat B6 rides well? You ever been in anything else? It's probably the single worst ride in its class.

I get the hype around Euro VW

>The Passat
>Quintessential European People Carrier
>Solid thuds everytime you close the door, bonnet or boot unlike Toyota Honda Subaru Nissan
>Decent sound system as standard for me tunes
>Everything makes sense on where its placed, not a suggestion, nothing quirky just no non sense pal
>Hit a pothole by accident? no problem suspension absorbs most of it and leaves you calm and collected inside instead of sending shockwaves through the whole interior and chassis like Honda
>Slightly more space inside than an Audi based on the same platform because sensibility
>No strange fishy asiatic design quirks like Toyota, its just...welll, a car and designed like one.
>Solid chunky manual transmission that lets you do the work with satisfaction or a silky smooth dual clutch gearbox that operates more like a torque converter than a psuedo racecar DCT, ideal for daily comfort
>nice Crayon scent that takes you back to childhood
>need economy? fuck the complex hybrid system in a Prius, just put around on a full tank of diesel in the mighty TDI will get you around Europe and home

you know what, I'll just ask here anyway since it might maybe be onjective advice
I was considering the mk8 Golf R, like a '23 or '24, because the ipad on the dash of the 8.5s are atrocious
I just like the performance to value ratio and want the utility of at least a hatch because wagons are almost extinct in the US and SUVs/crossovers are too big for my tastes
it looks like a good daily with enough get up and go to make things interesting

yeah I know the waterpump is dogshit but I can wrench enough to fix it myself and I know there are no tactile buttons on the dash and wheel which is gay but I feel like after a bit my muscle memory will be able to adjust

if you can think of something that can beat it by all means I will take it into consideration
>>
>>28888096

E28 M5, E30 325i, E31 850CSi, E36 M3 with subframe reinforcement, E39 530i, E46 330Ci or M3 with subframe reinforcement, LCI E90 N54 335i, LCI E90 M3 Competition, LCI F10 M5 Competition, W124, W126, R129, W140, W201, 964, 997 GT3 RS 4.0, C5, or a C6 Z06
All are better than a golf while alxo having HYDRAULIC steering and no faggy ipad touchscreen bullshit

hatchbacks are gay as fuck and are the the least practical body style, and wagons are frumpy as fuck hipster bullshits

>>
>>28888117

ok bro whatever thanks for your input
and pulling a random one of your examples the LCI E90 N54 335i appears to be nearly double the avg maintenance costs in parts alone, not very good in performance to value it seems
c'mon, be serious
I own a sedan and it's not enough, I frequently am needing more cargo room and I don't want huge fat cuckovers and SUVs
where does that leave me?
wagons or hatchbacks

I had a mirage rental that I couldn't even fit a fucking vaccuum cleaner in thw hatch of without folding down the back seats, whereas it easily fit in my coupe without having to do so

What a stupid thing to think. Did you know that Germany is the most litigious country on earth? Have you ever noticed that lots of supposedly Jewish names sound very kraut-like, ex. Goldberg, Finklestein, etc.? Have you noticed how both Orthodox Judaism and Kraut culture are obsessed with rules, following rules, and finding loopholes to the rules? Have you noticed how much arguing both of them do? Krauts and Jews are more alike than different. Again, got nothing against either, just don't care for them.

no they werent

they rusted out worse than any 1990s japanese car while being less powerful, worse handling, more expensive, and less reliable (especially if you got a auto or anything other than a 2.0 aba or 1.9 tdi)

you're comparing it to peak japan which had the corolla and civic...i'd argue the impreza and protege were even better. i'd take a golf/jetta over a sentra or mirage/lancer but that's about it
>>

>many thousands still on the road

i don't even see them in southern europe when i went last year, it was usually important stuff that rusted out on them too like floorpans and strut towers while the japanese cars were always arches and rockers

i saw more e36s and italian/french cars.

>cheapest car to own

$2000 more than a civic ($13k vs $15k) in 1996 and that's with vw building them in mexico

>if you got a auto

normies dont care about stickshift they only want reliable transportation and vw couldnt build as good of a automatic simple as

this is why the golf/jetta barely exists in america they werent competitive
