Whats the best pickup truck under 40k I can get right now? I'm not using it for work or anything crazy. Just a daily driver, picking up furniture, towing. Basic things. Really want something that is capable, not a slog on the highway, feels good to drive and has decent tech and looks good.

I've seen a few 2023 F150 Platinum / King Ranch's with 80k-ish miles. Is that a lot for those cars or can they easily get 300k if well maintained.
Should I consider a Silverado or something by GMC?

Don't recommend anything foreign. It's a pickup truck and should be American.

hyundai santa cruz but only with the 2.5T and you have to get the top trim to get adaptive crooz which is retarded but worth it
could definitely pick one up used for 40k

you're gonna get a bunch of anecdotal evidence here. just search which brand has the fewest problems for certain year models. also realize that problems scale with how many people drive it. So retards saying nissan titan is top tier and Ford f150 is shit fail to realize that only 10 people drive the titan while 10 million drive the f150 so problems are more visible. If you find a year where the models are pretty similar then just pick based on accessories and tech you like.

fag mentality, swallow your pride and get a v8 tundra or titan. The days of domestic trucks being the best have long been over.

Get yourself a Ford Ranger but only if you know how to work on cars. You could get one to 400k+ if you take care of it.

My dad says he wants a truck, he doesn't event haul shit.

Buy a new frontier while you can, no turbo, easy supercharger install later, ancient and well understood platform, decent seats.
Avoid gm as they continue to deal with class actions and recalls over their trucks.
An 80k mile Ford is probably being sold because bushings are fucked, and that's a time consuming and involved fix.
Ram is a meme but a comfy meme if you buy it right, but it's still finicky enough that I'd hesitate

I wouldn't touch any modern half ton. All their engines and trannies are junk. If you want something on the newer side go for a Godzilla F-250. Or just get 4 GMT800's.

hows the maintenance on one of these

The best pickup truck is the cheapest dodge caravan you don't care about driving into the ground
>Uhh but actually it's going to be a pavement princess
Pick who ever gives you the best lease options. Owning any nu pick up is aids

This is the way. Either 6.8 or 7.3, designed to be easily maintained. If half ton I don't think 2016 Coyote F150s are a bad choice. Ford did not use cylinder deactivation in V8s until the 2020 or later models if I recall correctly.

270k on my '15 on 5.0, a lot of that towing (over 30k in the last 70k) nothing I wouldn't consider routine maintenance. I'm doing a wheel bearing today, but it's the first bearing I've done since buying it 6 years/70k miles ago.
