Just bought a model y standard (yurop), here's my experience:

App and seamlessness for connectivity and driver settings
Space

Price (30k after all discounts)
Acceleration
Interior
Range

Enhanced autopilot

Why?

Agree to disagree. I find the old headlights pretty ugly and outdated.
Not a fan of the light bar so I unironically think the y standard is the best looking Tesla from the front, while the premium is the best looking one from the back.
If we're talking pure car profile, the S is still the best and sleekest one.

I like EVs as a grocery getter/commuter but Tesla is absolutely pants on head retarded when it comes to actually driving or using your car like a normal car

>music you were just listening to on Spotify keeps playing
>navigation automatically starts for the appointment you have in your calendar
>did I mention all of this without carrying any car keys whatsoever you can forget wherever
The list goes on, there's just a shitton of convenience features which by themselves sound super minor, but as a sum are pretty fucking convenient.

>>
>>28886789
tesla is just superior daily to anything else unless you don't have anywhere to charge it like me then you're fucked.
charging on public chargers is as expensive as driving on gas.
used to charge at work then some EU law came because of stupid ukraine whatever, there's some threshold of how much electricity you can use, go over it and you get tariffed by 50% so I got banned from charging at work.
>>
>>28886557
Congratulations, you bought the non-retarded version of Model Y. No stupid Star Trek light bar. No annoying roof glass with poor sun protection. And you get LFP battery that are basically indestructible and can and should always be charged to 100% unlike NMC. For 30k, it sounds like quite the deal for a new car that has basically zero running costs save tires.
>>
>>28886794
Light bars are gay.
Someone seems to have sent out a memo to all EV designers, that light bars are a necessity to look "futuristic".

but you can't forget your phone or have its battery die or bluetooth malfunction or...
>>
>>28886822

It's far better than basic remote start. You don't have to be within key fob range, it's electric so you don't have to worry about it idling unattended, and you can set it up so it always gets set to a certain temperature at a certain time, for like a work schedule.
>why is anybody else driving your car regularly enough for this to be a problem?
Friends? Family? Mechanics?

Yes, I do actually but that's not important. The point is all this redundant shit does is balloon prices of nucars into the stratosphere because normalfags think more features = more premium item. Also all these nannies allow subhumans who should never even drive a car drive one. It is true though. I'm pretty confident that at any given moment, only 0.1% of cars on the road are being driven by elderly people with no cell phone.
You also didn't answer the question of why I should care. I'm the one driving my car and the one using my app on my phone. Other people not using a thing is not justification for the thing not existing. Otherwise nothing would exist. I don't need epinephrine or penicillin but I think they should still exist and people who need them should be allowed to habe them.

My few cents are:
Once you tried the competing solutions, you will see its not the same.

What sells it is how deep the streamlining go. And then you get a chinese loaner car for a few weeks, and it struggle with basic shit like detecting which key opens which driver door.
Or having broken satnav by default.

I've tried a few of those models where you don't even turn the key. They are kinda shit, and then the battery of the FOB tends to die without proper warning.
What you are complaining about is what you get if you try to buy the competing VAG or Chinese car. The reason it works for the Tesla is that its seamless, where on most cars the implementation is fiddly as fuck.

You can tell when someone has realized they lost an argument when they start trying to change the topic. We're talking about the app. If you had good points to make about it then yo would make them. It's not. It's been about the app and maybe more loosely phone integration into cars. Tesla isn't the only car with an app these days, they just have the best app.
>>
>>28886951
Lmao
No. It does the bare minimum. Sure "it works" in my ancient Passat Alltrack of as well, but its not implemented to do any of those other things that are functional.
>>
>>28886987
the problem with app shit integration is in 5 years it will be gone and the car stuck with the rudimentary onboard systems.
I rather have a usable radio app in my car computer than android auto which is at the mercy of google.
Mobile standards are way to volatile to get finely integrated in a car. Like the SOS button in lots of cars relying on an EDGE modem and that getting turned off in the western world.

>>

Correct.
If you bought a Nissan Leaf, then te app stopped working a few months ago. The same is true of a lot of other OEMs.
VAG is also going to nuke their support for their current lineup, if they can't get it properly integrated.

That new cars in that year will have more battery capacity for a lower price - maybe.
>>

bigger battery obviously.
Who will still sit on a 2015 tesla when one on the used market in 2035 will propably have 3 times the charging speed and range. The biggest improvement they can do to an ev is a tighter battery package, this is something they have a few generation of improvement left before the industry hits stagnation (on lion)

>>
>>28887068
Why are euros only concerned with needs?
tessies are too shitty to be DESIRED by CAR enthusiasts
>>
>>28887057
Correct.
Similarly there was a wave of early commuter BEVs. Think Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi iMIEV, Smart, Renault Zoe, etc.

These still drive their commuter miles, quite well, even in current year. Some of them are going to require a few new battery cells, but its already a solved problem.
The same is going to happen to the Tesla. So long the chemistry is durable enough, That 300mile mint WLT is still going to be 200miles in nicer RL conditions even decades into the future. The real question are if the suspension wear and panel quality is going to keep enough of them at the road to get something like a VW Beetle status where there is actually enough working models and parts leftover.

This is interesting, because by this point you have people who bought various KIA BEVs, who by a mere 200.000km+, already has problem with cell instability.

It imo cuts way too much compared to the normal model
And which cars did you considered before this
Model y standard would make a great police/fleet/taxi car though
>>
>>28887725
>Why didn't you paid extra and got the premium model y just curious
In Germany it's just not worth it. In the US it's a no brainer because from what I was reading it only costs 5k more.
In Germany however, Tesla gives you 3k back if you buy the standard, while the base premium variant literally costs 13k more and no 3k back.
On top of that, you get a 0% interest rate loan on the base model, so you can blissfully drive your car for like 300 bucks a month until it's paid off in 5 years. Which is super advantageous when considering inflation and such.
So effectively, the premium variant costs like 16k more AND inflation on top
>>
>>28887731
And honestly, the only things I miss are
>non-retarded frunk
>better speakers
>electronical backseats

If you're going for a car like this, it's a very important factor. The digital creature comforts, etc..
Best to avoid it altogether, of course. I just have digital conveniences in gps and spotify..but I'm glad I still have real gauges and knobs for the most part.

What went so wrong with Tesla designs? I remember the Model S just being an extremely cool looking sporty sedan with a practical hatchback opening. Now Model 3 looks like a weird fish and Model Y looks like a soap bar. Who wants to drive cars that look like that? I feel like we're getting ever closer to Homer Simpson's vision of the ideal car.

the Model Y is the best selling car in the world, so most car buyers?

It reminds me of something. I can't put my finger on it. Like a cross between an old Celica and when Buick town cars tried were real long and curvy at the end of the 90s. Either way. I agree. It looks lame.

SUVs offer a lot of space inside, an elevated seat position - better viewt and easier to get in and out. A lot of space for cargo as well.
And I guess that the batteries in the Tesla keep the center of gravity fairly low...
>>
>>28891613
The model y is one of the least retarded decisions you can make from a utility perspective, and I say that as a person who thinks musk is retarded
>cheap
>insane room
>insane storage space
>good range
>lots of convenience functions

This is a generalization.
Even in ICE cars plastic engine covers have taken over, signalling that what happens below is "magic" and should not bother mere mortals. How many car owners know about the technical details of their car? I bet many don't even know how many gears their automatic has.
I like electric motors, inverters, batteries, I also can appreciate the technology in engines.

This is ironic considering a Macbook is 100 times more durable than any Windows laptop. I know people who still rock their early 2010's Macbooks just fine.

I drive my model 3 without FSD and love the shit out of it. Like, anyone who likes cars and doesn't like electric is flat out dumb. The acceleration these things have is boner inducing (even gas supercars often cant match a fucking model 3 sedan for acceleration), and cornering feels fun as fuck in my rwd 3 since the battery is dead center creating a super stable center of gravity.

>>28892367
Don't forget gascarfags can't even comprehend the levels of instant throttle feedback electric cars have

Get an i4 instead. More fun, more reliable. More practical. Cooler design. Won't blind other drivers in traffic with obnoxiously intensive LED headlights.
>>
>>28893347
And like the Polestar 2 has a hatchback instead of the gay tiny and useless trunk of Model 3. BMW i4 is functionally an SUV in trunk space and opening once you take down the rear seats. It's incredibly practical.

Isn't FSD banned in Europe? That's the main reason to buy a Tesla and your retarded politicians won't even let you use it lmao. Europe has become a joke.

It really isn't, musktard. The main reason to buy a Tesla is price competitiveness and even musk understands that, which is why the base model y costs 30k in yurop.
>>
>>28893513
>my politicians decide when I get to use new technology
Just admit that you and your countrymen are all cucks. I've been using FSD daily for the past 6 months and it's worked 100% perfectly during that time. 8 billion total FSD miles driven with a grand total of TWO fatalities, both caused by beta versions of FSD.
>>
>>28893520
In what country is that?
>>
>>28893526
The only country that matters (America).

Stick it up your bum.
Bribery is the main way America makes its way into foreign markets (that and killing people). Perhaps Tesla ought to start Paying people to certify their cars as safe.
It worked for Lockheed.
