I picked up a 2026 last week. It's much more refined and nice than expected. Only real negatives are fuel economy, I'm averaging 23 during break-in, and the over-damped suspension. It rides better that I assumed it would but it would ride better without the classic "Let's make a sporty car have a busy ride" shock tuning.

I own a 2016 wrx I bought off the lot and I can tell you it's nowhere near perfection. It handles great and has decent power, but that's about all it excels at. Everywhere else you can feel that it was built to cheap standards. Flimsy interior, tiny seats, clunky suspension, awful fuel mileage, very thin paint... The only reason I haven't gotten rid of it is because I don't want to spend money on a new car. And because I haven't yet had to fix anything on it. If it gets to that point where things start breaking it's gone.
>>

how fast is your camaro in dirt? or on ice? restricting oneself to having fun on paved roads is a common mistake.

Faster than the WRX considering the Camaro comes with all seasons while the WRX comes with summer tires, which would make it even slower than the camaro in those very conditions.

I also have a VB. I love my VB. But OP you are a fag for posting this all the time.
>Rattle city interior
>Orange peel paint quality that scratches if you look at it wrong
>1st gear is too tall for being an overlanding granny gear like the Crosstreks had, too short for city driving
>2nd gear not tall enough to reach 60 with stock redline
>6th gear too short for highway cruising
>Seating position not low enough in lowest position for natural clutch manipulation
>Arm rest and center console at different heights

With correct tires it's a monster in the snow and otherwise pleasant to drive compared to the other autoslop and shitty part time AWD that everyone else makes. No I will not drive Brown Mans Wheels, Audisteer or Mexus fuck off.

>1st gear is too tall for being an overlanding granny gear like the Crosstreks had, too short for city driving
>>2nd gear not tall enough to reach 60 with stock redline
>>6th gear too short for highway cruising
>>Seating position not low enough in lowest position for natural clutch manipulation
bizarre gripes
I own a TR and the seating position and pedal box are perfect for normal driving (heel toe not so much)
6th is a little short for comfort, but that means you don't have to downshift to overtake or go up hills at 75+ mph
the bigger issue with the transmission is how inconsistent the shift feel is, sometimes it's smooth and sometimes it's stupidly notchy
>>
>>28886740
Everyone I know or met who bought one of these bought it as a compromise, and not because it's the car he actually wanted.
>>
>>28890110
Shorter 1st gear would jive with the cladding, WRX's see more gravel and forest trails than any other sport car
Taller 2nd gear, or higher redline would be nice for getting onto freeways
TR/GT/TS have different seats that are lower.
>Don't have to downshift
Downshifting is fun and I like the shift feel and peddle box. Clutch is a little light and vague compared to what I'm used to though.
>>
>>28886740
I'll be getting mine in a couple weeks, it's going to be great. Subie AWD is awesome in Canada. Two wheelers can't compete.
>>
>>28890509
>clutch

best mod you can do to improve drivability is gktech clutch spring followed by a clutch delay valve and stainless steel clutch line followed by pitch stop/trans mount (do group n jdm sti competition, looks "stock" for warranty, softer than poly but significantly stiffer than stock, will break as intended during a accident)

these cars have really heavy clutch return springs that remove whatever "feeling" you have to determine when the clutch grabs. its a very simple install on brz/86s and va wrx/stis like 20 mins on your back start to finish, not sure about vb wrxs

This week I drove a 2019 STI and a 2026 WRX, both stock.

For daily life actually prefer the WRX. It's genuinely just as fun around the city, quieter ride on the highway, better interior and stereo. The STI short sh

shifter was nice and the clutch/throttle were easier to control the first time sitting in it, but once I got used to the WRX it was pretty much the same.

Also drove a 2026 CVT WRX and people who shit on the CVT are right, it just completely kills the experience of the car. It's not a bad vehicle compared to actual shitboxes, it's just a bad combo of not really fun and not luxury.

Gonna buy a TS later this year.

Idk about automotive perfection, but they are fairly great. I have a TR with 20k miles on it. It's my 18th car and it really reminds me of a modern BC Leagy SS combined with some Audi UrS4.

I figure with the VB:
>STI drivetrain
>Ohlins Suspension
>Light tune to 350hp
>Girodisc two piece rotors
>Lightweight 18" wheels
Now that would be really close to perfection to me, and that is not that much to do.
>>
>>28886740
Looks like a Ford
