They would absolutely dominate in the US, and the only reason they’re not brought over is because VAG doesn’t want them to succeed
>>
>>28886837
Why wouldn't you buy the same car, but cheaper?
>>
>bargain bin 1.9 diesel poverty mobile
I think most Americans would rather buy a better used car.

Budget Skodas really are that. I do like me the odd Octavia or Yeti.
>>
>(insert random cheap piece of shit) would totally dominate the US
the Mitsubishi mirage failed
the honda fit failed
the nissan versa failed
the toyota yaris failed

but sure, this time. from the company that brought you Diesel Gate, we shall succeed.
>>
Skoda is just VW with bit older tech and more conservative styling.

US VW is already that compared to EU VW. In US VW is just Jetta and three crossovers. Adding Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq wouldnt do anything.
>>
>>28887309
The cars you posted didn't fail, they were discontinued.
>>
>>28887411
sounds like a failure to me. no one discontinues a product people actually want.
>>
>>28886837
What do you get when this car breaks down?
A cancelled Czech.
>>
>>28887325
Not to mention VW isn't exactly selling in the US.

Status.
Normalfags are all about status, not value for money.
>>
>>28887529
VW for status? Come on anon, who falls for this crap.
>>
>>28887529
>>28887531
No no, he's right. People will spend more for an Audi than an identical VW.

Why do I see so many Golf GTIs and Rs and never any RS3s?

They can't actually judge value apart from the mere basics like "will it do my commute", so they have no metric for "value for money", but they instinctively know how they would react when seeing that car - status.

>*forces official dealership in serbia to cancel any cooperation with serbian glowies including ongoing repairs because it could somehow be an optics disaster*
BASED, fuck them glowies I have no idea how something like this even happens or that the glowniggers had work cars but it fucking did because I can't make this shit up

>Octavia
Good but bit expensive now though.
>Yeti
They don't make that one anymore, some really gay very typical cuckover replaced it.
>>28887309
Škodas are nicer than those.
>>28887325
>VW with bit older tech and more conservative styling.
VW itself has literally the most "conservative styling" I can think of though.

Americans missed out on the best Škodas
>>
I am an eurofag and desu when I have kids i'm kinda looking forward to getting an octavia combi rs. I feel like it is the best bang for buck nowadays seeing everything in the market are hybrid suvs with a stunning 100hp engine for like 35k euro.
>>
>>28887529
normal people dont understand cars well enough to make an informed decision. Dont pretend like you know value in every purchase you make aswell
>>
>VAG doesn't want VAG to succeed
Hmm...
>>
>>28887309
Just going on what I've seen, don't care to look up sales figures, only the Mirage did poorly and probably because Mitsu is dead to Americans and the Mirage was kinda shitty.
The other 3 were so common in the '10s I don't see how you'd call them failures.
>>28888571
They want the higher profit-margin VAG brands to succeed.
>>

The fit was selling 50k units per year at its peak in america. which is abysmal.
the versa was the best selling one out of that group, and it only peaked at a 140k units.

Keep in mind, the 9th gen chevy impala, the ancient flagship shitbox from GM on an even more ancient platform in its final year, sold more than the Versa, which was the best selling in the sub compact car segment.

The laziest effort from GM costing more than twice the price in the fullsize-flagship category during the recession that got less than half the MPG still beat the best economy offerings from Japan in sales.

They were failures.
>>
>>28888672
Yeah but that Impala is a giant piece of shit. I'd rather drive a Mirage or Mazda2/Yaris.
More importantly to the argument, I'm looking at Skoda's lineup and I don't see any economy subcompacts anything like those cars. Their smallest cars, even the Fabia, look like midsize sedans to me.
>>
>>28888674
the giant piece of shit outselling the entire sub compact segment solidifies they were failures in america and any retard blaming CAFE (which would've hit the Impala just as hard). is wrong.

thanks for listening to my ted tailk.
>>
>>28888685
Okay, but what does that have to do with Skoda?

You wouldn't believe how much Piech despised and outright sabotaged the Skoda with his VW bias
>>
>>28888813
I hope that prototype has a W12 in.
That is somehow diesel.
