alright whats something bad about this truck is it really reliable and is maintenance on it difficult?
>>28886862>is it really reliableNo>and is maintenance on it difficult?Yes
>>28886902You guys praise this and the titan. It's super underrated
>>28886902>unreliableBeats the hybrid turbo 4 only Taco.
>>28886862The only thing that bothers me about this truck is the parking break is a pedal, rather than a hand break. Not really a big deal.Youtube review-tards will say inane shit like "it's just not very modern" - which is actually a good thing. The V6 is a lot more reliable than the turbo shit going in other trucks.
>>28886862Honda Ridgeline if you refuse to pay the Goyota tax yet need a bed. Ford Maverick if you can't wait for manufacturers to catch up to the small pick-up market and demand fuel efficiency. Toyota Tacoma if you plan to keep it for 20 years then sell it to Juan for $13k at 180k miles.

>>28886998im looking for a basic truck and this fits my needs to start hauling things around, the hatchback is not enough to move large pieces of wood, i just need something to last for the next 5 or so yrs without any wild maintenance issues i have enough problems as it is
>>28886998>the parking break is a pedal, rather than a hand breakYes. Thats normal for a truck.Do you think youre in F&F and are going to do sick drifts with the hand brake?
>>28886862It’s probably decent reliability wise because of the simplified drivetrain, but it drives like total shit for the class of truck it is
>>28887123i dont care about how it drives or how it looks as long as it takes me from A->B and works without needing to do any major repairs while carrying lots of wood im planning on building lots of cages for dogs and chickens plus whatever little sheds i can build on some piece of land
I have one. I put it up on my lift as soon as I got it and, let me tell you, it is super easy to maintain. I did my first oil change on the ground just to see how it was for people without a lift or even a jack and it's fully possible and pretty easy. The belt is easy to change, all the diff and t-case fluid drains and fills are easy, and half the spark plugs are accessible without removing anything but the coil packs. The other 3 need to remove the upper manifold but that's 6 10mm in easy spots and remove the intake tube with a screwdriver. I could do it 15 minutes with hand tools. I had the dash apart installing a dashcam facing front and rear and even all that was easily removed and well thought out for dissassembly. The rear axle is a Dana 44 and the mercedes 9g tronic is available in high power cars like the AMG Mercedes and it shifts nice and smooth. It does a lot less hunting than my dads F150 10 speed. With all that said, you have to drive both the taco and the frontier and decide for yourself. The taco 4 cylinder is the same engine from the Highlander but turned the correct way and the Highlanders have had zero issue with reliability. My mom has a Highlander with it and it already has 55k miles with zero trips to the dealer for anything.
>>28886862In the first 6 months and about 10k miles, it's going to be as reliable as anything else. If the factory or a supplier fucked up, you'll know in that initial period. Past that, they tend to be more reliable than turbo midsize trucks and more suited to carrying shit than a Ridgeline (Ridgeline will also have a lot of ugly gloss black plastic that gets scratched quickly, it's a lifestyle suburb truck)Also if you pay sticker on one of these you're gay
>>28886862>>28886938Definitely the most underrated trucks on the market>>28886971anything beats a fucking turbo toyota these days
>>288870112nd Gen frontiers had a hand parking brake.
>>28886902Don't listen to this wrenchlet fag
>>28886862It's one of those vehicles that starts breaking early and stays broken for the next several hundred thousand miles. It'll run badly, forever, and will make sure you know it's unhappy about it.
>>28886862My main worry would be if Nissan will still be here in a decade. I can't imagine altima sales are very profitable when new.
>>28887176why buy a new truck then instead of an used one
>>28887008>F150 money for a Pilot with a bed and no 4WDlollkmao even
>>28887327new=less worries the first few years like i said i have enough going on right now, i dont have much time to be working on cars
>>28887278they are too big to fail, worse case they get bailed out, bought/merge with another car company>>28886862arguably the most reliable truck you can buy new
>>28887401>bought/merge with another car companyWasn't Honda going to buy them but talks went south?
>>28886862Shitty turn radiusSomehow non-telescoping steering wheel on a truck that came out in 2022. That was one of the main reasons I didn't get one.
>>28886862it's the only new truck on the market that's good, if simply for the fact that they've barely updated it since gen 2. reliable now means that they didn't fill it with techbloat and haven't used any 2021+ drivetrain design.
>>28889503>they didn't fill it with techbloat and haven't used any 2021+ drivetrain design. The drivetrain in it came out in 2020, that's not exactly much different.
>>28886862>DIHave fun taking the intake apart every 100k miles.
>>28886862hasnt passed durability testing for sale in nog markets but the white man and all asian countries have no issues with anything a japaneese manufacturer has made in the past 40 years.
>>28886902>nissan >difficultwrenchlet, nu-male
>>28889653>but the white man and all asian countries have no issues with anything a japaneese manufacturer has made in the past 40 yearstell that to all the people who've had Tacoma and Tundra engines blow up in the last decade. Or the ones whose 2G Tacos rusted in half.
>>28889653Those markets get the proper pickup, the Navara, which comes with the appropriate turbodiesel. Developed markets haven't had anything like that since the days of the old Nissan Hardbody.
>>28886862>35k for a shitboxUsed 5.0 4x4 f150 mogs as usual I see
>>28887010>im looking for a basic truck and this fits my needs to start hauling things aroundStrongly consider a Maverick if you don't actually need body on frame, ie towing/offroading/modifying
>>28886862I just drove a Frontier and a Tacoma today because I am about to buy one or the other. My honest impression is the Frontier was better in almost every way
>>28891109>f150But that's more expensive
>>28891346It's not. Actually go to a dealership and stop looking at the manufacturers website prices.
>>28887247Between the D21, D22, D40 and D23 they were all hand parking brakes.
