Kia has a bizarre hands free driving system that just disengages randomly (rarely) without any sort of warning just the little green icon disappears and you lurch out of the lane, I think they fixed it on a later version, but those later versions have capacitative sensors to make you keep your hands on the wheel and mine doesn't make you do that

b) makes you hold the wheel at all times with capacitative sensors to ensure compliance or it deactivates
there's no winning because the government wont make any allowance for using phones while driving even if the tech is great

I have no idea how they programmed it - should there be a warning chime when lane keep turns off - nah just turn the green circle icon white they'll get it

you'd be surprised how fast you can react even while doing something else if the car starts veering out of the lane, and I drive on a lot of scary mountain roads where a few inches of off is going over a cliff, though hands free driving doesn't work on those anyways

have they tried putting a "tesla full self driving" on like a steep dirt road up a mountain? does it even do that?
