Steering is feeling a bit light and loose. Would tie rods and bearings cause a slight pull to the left or is that likely a different issue?
>>28888736You can jack up the front and check
Could also be low hydraulic fluid/leak
>>28888740Do this and jiggle the wheel around, if it's easy to do with lots of lateral movement, then you can start to narrow down whether it's steering or bearings
I'm driving a literally brand new 5 miles on the clock rental and now I know for certain that the entire suspension on my beat up DD is trash. All of it.If your car is old and you think shit is worn out it is. Why is this even a question.
>>28888736Back in the good old days service manuals would show you all the different techniques for checking play in all the suspension components and how much play is acceptable
>>28888789He wants to narrow there issue down, not blindly replace his entire suspension.
>>28888736Could be your strut towers, tie rods, bearings etc take it to a reputable mechanic if you lack tools and knowledge as you will likely cause more damage fixing it yourself.
>>28888821i still remember reading how chrysler lower ball joint maximum vertical play before required replacement was higher than that of ford or gm. iirc it was 0.5 inch max, a lot of garages back then didn't know and would shake the front wheels up and down in front of customers to show them their LBJs supposedly needed replacing when they were still perfectly fine.
