Would a simple, cheap air cooled engine running on 100% ethanol be viable in the current geopolitical situation?
Would it be possible to start manufacturing again cheap, simple cars like Volkswagen Beetle, Fiat 500, Fiat 126p, Citroën 2CV or maybe even something like early Porsche 911?

Mods will take down the pic mark my words.

They're afraid of panties for christ sake

This shit would be slower than a lithium battery vehicle which can take electricity from anywhere. I say this owning a 1976 moped I don't use, that would probably run on ethanol with tuning.

This.
Brazil is doing a lot of ethanol shit - they even have small aircraft running on it, but this only works on a large scale.
Also the plants you will be using to make ethanol will need fertilizer, which is also made from natural gas, so the benefit will not be as big....

Suzuki already does this, but they don't sell it in the US because of CAFE norms.
