Could 87 gas with a octane booster be a cheaper option than filling up with 93 cause in my area at least the 5 bucks extra for filling up with it is reasonably cheaper than 93.

COULD, have you tried doing the fucking math?!?!!??!

No.
"3 points" means 87.3, not 90. Point. Eighty seven POINT three. Plus three POINTS. So even if your store bought off the shelf bottle says TEN PoInTs!!! It's only 88 octane from 87.

You want a real octane booster you need to just straight up buy Xylene and Toluene, which are in majority the hydrocarbons used in real gas. Almost everything else is just a shitload of MMT which is fucking your plugs and cat. But if you dont care about MMT fouling, Torco and BOOSTane are the best.

Just get the proper gas if your car needs higher than 87 Anon, don't even fuck around trying to save money with fuel in your car.

Any others I can just pick up from a big box store. The mmt fouling on the plugs seems bad but I fill up with costco gas which is higher quality than most others so I might be fine

It's probably more worth it to find the nearest station that sells 100AKI+ race gas for $10/gallon. You could buy barrels of xylene and toluene (which again is the majority of chemical used to make 91/93) and the shipping cost would hardly make sense for the mix ratio needed.

Realistically you'd factor the costs against the costs of plug and cat work every 20k miles...
I've done the math and ultimately going for high octane it's just better to stick to the local pumps and accept making 5HP less.

>accept making 5HP less
This, unless you dyno tune your shit, you gain practically nothing when it comes to higher fuel octane, or fucking with the flow of your car like deleting cadillac converter or doing a rice intake
>>
>>28889525
just stay out of boost and youre good on the shit gas, wrenchlet faggot

The fuel is cleaner, which does matter. Premium fuel isn't just about higher octane.

I used fuelly when I was in college driving on my $50/2 week paycheck from a bullshit campus job. It redpilled me on spending more at Shell than AM/PM shitty gas that was getting worse MPG that more than offset the cheaper price. The system is rigged against dumb poorfags. Don't be dumb OP.

Costco also gives top grade gas but it's cheaper than most other places. The id I'd be using would be from there
