whats the point of getting a motorcycle if you live in a place where lane splitting and filtering are illegal? should I just get an e-bike if I want to get from places within my city faster during rush hour? Should I get a moped maybe? Please give me advice.
>>
Lane splitting is fucking stupid. Yes it's way faster commuting on a e-bike or even an acoustic bike than wiggling your compensation toy through traffic. Mopeds are super gay and pointless. You can't take them on trails or pathways and you get none of the advantages of a motorcycle.

>Mopeds are super gay and pointless
can you elaborate on why they're pointless? as for being gay I don't mind since I am a female so I probably wouldn't get embarrassed the way a guy would lol, I love the way the super cub looks

>motorcycles are compensators but if you get a small one it’s gay and pointless
sounds like you don’t actually have insight and just want to be inflammatory

>whats the point of getting a motorcycle
Better gas mileage, easier to legally fit theough gaps during busy traffic, more enjoyable commute
>if lane splitting or filtering is illegal
No one gives a shit about splitting except other motorcyclists, and you're not going to run into those that often. Filtering is nice to have but you'll live.

My insight is irrelevant when those are straight facts. A motorcycle serves no practical purpose and you only ride one in the city for the attention. At that point it's no different than driving a lifted truck or a supercar to compensate for your shortcomings in life. Mopeds are pointless because they're more dangerous than an actual motorcycle yet have none of the benefits of a motorcycle. This is just a fact. Oh and you can't deny they're super gay. That's also a fact.

a moped seems like an easier way of exploring backgrounds and going long distance than an e-bike without committing to a heavy motorcycle, and you can get away with bike lane riding in my state with it

back roads*

Where I live, I'd choose an electric bicycle, as mopeds are treated as motorcycles and e-bikes are treated as bicycles and can ride on cycleways.
>>
Motorcycles are not logical, economical forms of transportation unless you live in a third world shithole. If you live in America, you need a car and a motorcycle is just a toy. It's the most fun toy you will ever play with, but it's just a toy.

you don't need a car unless you have people that you need to drive around regularly. motorcycles can easily haul things like groceries.
>>
>>28890580
If you buy groceries every couple of days for one person, sure. If you never need to pick up anything bigger than groceries, sure. But if you have a job that requires you to bring equipment, if you want to bring your gym gear so you can lift after work, if you need to commute in the rain, if you ever need to give someone else a ride, a motorcycle quickly becomes impractical as fuck. I had a bike as my only vehicle for a year, but I lived in Japan at the time and lived right next to the post office and a grocery store. Even a Miata is more practical as an only vehicle.

Buy a moped with pedals and replace the gas motor with an ebike drive train. Get a plate flipper for when you want to be a bicycle

>rush hour
Just dont work a boring 9-5
>>
>>28890597
this did slightly make me change my mind. I'd like a small car for emergencies, but I want to ride around on a moped on a regular basis. owning a car + motorcycle feels too much for me, I live in dense city.
>>
Just split anyway, nobody can catch you if they're stuck in traffic.
Don't be a retard and go fast doing this, just chill and go slow past
>>
>>28890437
Splitting is suicide, filtering is big brain, who cares if it's """"''""'""""'""illegal""""'"""""'""""'"", traffic sucks and bike skips traffic. What is the cop going to do? Activate no-clip and pass through gridlock to catch you? Bikes are too overpowered, that's why The Man wants to limit your freedom with these bullshit laws
>>
>>28890445
You get to lane spilt in traffic
>>
>>28890488
Mopeds are fine for the city - you can simply drive through congestion and park everywhere, usually at no cost.
The only downside is winter, that's why they're more popular in warm climates.
Maybe ebikes will replace them at some point, but as they are much lighter they're easier to steal....

I own a GS. RRR sux. I'd rather get the GSXR or S1k. I'll buy the RRR when Honda wins something in wsbk or motogp. I like they are winning something in Dakar. I4s are boring when compared to twins on road anyway. But GSXR still has a special place for me.

seething cagecuck
>>
Even if you don't filter/split lanes you can still change lanes in traffic faster and easier.

>Motorcycles are not logical, economical forms of transportation unless you live in a third world shithole.
You're stupid and poor.
>>
>>28890488
insane amount of projection anon
>>
>>28890445
Splitting (legally, going between moving vehicles) is stupid. Filtering (going between stationary vehicles) is safer and better than them standing in the traffic with all the cages. Imagine having a vehicle that can ignore traffic jams but forcing it to add to it, making the jam worse.

Anon, if you were really so smart and rich, you'd have a nice car instead of a two-wheeled death trap that will 100% kill or disable you if you ride it enough.
