whats the point of getting a motorcycle if you live in a place where lane splitting and filtering are illegal? should I just get an e-bike if I want to get from places within my city faster during rush hour? Should I get a moped maybe? Please give me advice.
Lane splitting is fucking stupid. Yes it's way faster commuting on a e-bike or even an acoustic bike than wiggling your compensation toy through traffic. Mopeds are super gay and pointless. You can't take them on trails or pathways and you get none of the advantages of a motorcycle.

But if you have a job that requires you to bring equipment, if you want to bring your gym gear so you can lift after work, if you need to commute in the rain, if you ever need to give someone else a ride, a motorcycle quickly becomes impractical as fuck. I had a bike as my only vehicle for a year, but I lived in Japan at the time and lived right next to the post office and a grocery store. Even a Miata is more practical as an only vehicle.
