>SUV owners: I like sitting high and it's easier to get in and get out from my car.
>Shitboxcels: SUV owners think that it's safer to drive a SUV
What causes this?

Safety regs making the belt line of the whip so fucking high you can't even see unless you're in a guckhuge SUV
>>
>>28891825
I only see maybe three SUVs in that image.
To answer the question, people like being up high since it allows you to see over other traffic. However now that most traffic is larger it's a moot point but people still believe it. Shitbox owners are just salty that every fucking time they drive at night their retinas lose a years of use.

The way you write makes me want to JUST buy some auto only McDonald's strutted egg car.
>>
Man it's nice being able bodied so that I don't even have to consider ease of getting in and out of the car as a limiting factor.
>>
>>28891831
You better not anon, cause that would just make me mad, stop starting all over the place in your little torsion beam hatch thing that looks like a dog taking a fucking shit.

crossovers are not SUVs, they are raised hatchback unibody cars

Crossovers are purchased over sedans because
>better space:MPG ratio
>sitting higher up gives you more visibility
>the sitting position is more natural
>pretty sure they are safer overall but dont quote me
the crossover has replaced the sedan and wagon.

SUVs are body-on-frame utility vehicles. they're literally pickup trucks with an enclosed bed. you buy one over a crossover because you want
>4-wheel drive
>real towing capability

it literally is safer (as driver and passenger) to drive an SUV
i have an SUV now for the first time, and i dont think its easier to get in and out versus my old sedan
i bought and suv because it fits four kids in booster or car seats, a stroller, and my dog

Because part of their personality is defined by their thoughts on cars, the cars they like and the cars they hate. There's a community of people online who a vested interest in hating modern suvs and crossovers. Acknowledging that the thing they hate so much actually has some redeeming qualities is unthinkable so those points must be ignored and substituted with the pre-approved hate points. Like a married homophobic Christian Republican, even if he saw a picture of a guy that turned him on a little bit, he would never ever admit it and focus only on the negative things he hated.

But you're not, or at least for your sake I hope you're not constantly driving exclusively in gridlock traffic. There will be times where seeing over other traffic isn't a factor but your viewing angle still is. Being higher gives you a better view just in general, you can see other obstacles sooner, you can see over stationary objects like signs or trash cans, you can just see more.

My 4runner is old enough to buy cigarettes and has allowed me to move my entire life to and from a bunch of places in one go. That is enough for me.
>>
Bought an SUV because it's comfy, thinking of trading it in for a CR-V hybrid though.
People think I have kids though when I just use it mostly for fishing and range day.

>crossovers are not SUVs, they are raised hatchback unibody cars
I love my crossover for exactly this reason. my old hatchback scraped the undercarriage and ripped the bumper off all the time on relatively mild dirt roads. 3 inches of lift and the problem goes away

2020 RX 350

AWD and a large passenger/cargo capacity; that's it. Because I don't commute the miles per gallon is negligible compared to a Prius or other Goyota hybrid sedan I had considered. Used car market makes things interesting. I was able to buy a slightly used luxury SUV known for reliability for less than the market's most notorious hybrid commuter that has a creaky interior and poverty plastic everywhere.

>it's easier to get in and get out from my car

I never understood this argument. What part of the population is functionally disabled because of their shitty lifestyle?
If you're younger than 80, you don't have a chronic condition diagnosed and you start to struggle with such basic movements, the last thing you should do is getting a car that allows your condition to worsen, instead of taking care of yourself.
Fucking grim.

what a shit, is coffee good for you tier shill thread made just to keep this faggot presskit photo of goyota garbage mobiles at the top of the catalog

It doesn't have anything to do with being "functionally disabled". One thing being easier than another thing doesn't mean you can't do the other thing at all. Given the choice between the easy thing and the less easy thing, you're taking the easy thing. It's the same reason beds are the height beds are. Do you have a bed frame and box spring or do you put your mattress directly in the floor? What??? You have a bed frame? What's the matter, so functionally disabled that you can't even get your fat ass up off the ground?

After a certain age lower back pain becomes a reality.
It's not that getting into a lower car is impossible, but a higher seat position is more comfortable.
>>
>>28892013
you're understand it soon enough, unfortunately. also women have osteoarthritis at way higher rates than men, so them wanting a higher ride height and more natural sitting position is pretty reasonable i guess
>>
>>28892013
I've heard it's also much easier to install and remove car seats, which you may be doing a lot if you have kids but also need the back seat frequently
>>
I drive an SUV because I need the space. Otherwise I'd be more than comfortable just driving a Camry or something
>>
>>28892013
sedans are literally not ergonomic at all. they're not even trad. horses, old wagons, and even the first cars, they all had a high ride height. sedans exist for better MPG, and are therefore gay.
>>
>>28892108
You need the space all the time? I have a coupe and it's fine. Only problems are with home depot and family trips.
