It doesn't feel like a muscle car at all. even the power steering rack that it has feels great and not numb. there is a reason it cost 300k. a regular GT500 might be brute force, but the GTD is more like a super car that resembles a mustang with lots of attention to detail in how it handles.

Ford can use the data from their races.Porsche, AMG, and Ford all learned from Nissan in that you need a racing team at the ring if you want the best lap times. those racing laps offer so much data and Ford is using that for these massive gains that GM won't be able to get outside of making a more hardcore version of their already hardcore corvette.
