thoughts on these little badge engineered shitboxes?are they miserable to drive outside cities?
>>28892918I wouldn't say they're miserable necessarily, they kind of just feel like an 80s car. A little rough without much going on inside or out, but does what it says on the tin
>>28892918My neighbor had one for several years. He's a dentist and can drive what he likes (his other car is an E36 M3), so presumably it's decent. I never heard him say anything negative about it. I considered getting one a while ago as a rally raid car. They're apparently pretty well put together. The Toyota 1KR-FE petrol engine is a favorite for the Mongol Rally, and, if I recall correctly, fifth gear is reasonable tall, something like ~35 kmh / 1k rpm, so you're not going to be buzzing around too high on the motorway. For my purposes, I would go with the PSA 1.4 HDi. They're detuned to 54 HP in the 107/C1/Aygo and can be tuned 90 HP without ill effect (except on the clutch). Fifth gear is 48.5 kmh / 1k rpm, so you can calmly cruise on the motorway in the meaty party of the torque curve.
>>28892918I only one I ever got in my hands was completely run into the ground. If you get one that's not been a pizza-taxi / inofficial demolition derby (2nd place) for the previous decade it's probably decent.Be aware that the trunk is awkward because of the tiny hatch.
I drive mine at 170+ kph . I don't know how much exactly because the speedometer only shows until 170.
>>28892918> Peugeot/CitroenBig fat NO to both of them. Renault is the only French car you can buy these days.
>>28892937Pretty much that. Highway speed isn't exactly relaxed though you'll be a lot safer than in a BL Mini.
>>28892918rain leaks through the hatch or taillights, don't buy if you can't put it in a garage
It's always funny to seeing the Toyota tax on the Toyota one while it's the exact same car as the Peugeot and Citroen.
>>28892918currently own a 2015 citroen c1 1.0, first car. cant complain too much because my nan god bless her soul bought it for me but these types of car are the definition of it gets you from a to b. only fun thing about driving mine is that it is very light, otherwise yeah its miserable. hopefully i can get myself some hot hatch once i have a year ncb
>>28894547NCB is everything when you're new. She did you a good one. My first was a Fiat Uno 45, drove that like it was stolen for 3 years. 3 years NCB gets you into proper car land.Hang in there.
>>28892918goyota is such an am amazingly pathetic organization they cant even make half of their own cars what the FUCK are they doing with all that GOD DAMNED money?
>>28894564what was your first proper car? i got a quote for an m135i and it was only £1500 a year with 1 year ncb applied. also considering a mk7 golf gti but idk man, for the same money as the beamer it seems like half the fun. golf insurance would be 1250
>>28892918The definition of perfectly adequate transportation.
