>Can me modded to run 2026 maps and speed cameras for free>Can still pick up real time traffic>No internet connection, all map files are local, so no botnet to worry about>Can be picked up for single digits on ebay
How does it do real time traffic without an internet connection?
>>28893040I had one a while ago. Can't remember what model but I swapped out the car on it for the turtle van. Not a lot of options for sprites of cars that small. I also swapped out the boot image for one of a cute anime girl with her head surrounded by question marks.
>>28893042>How does it do real time traffic without an internet connection? It uses a system called RDS-TMC, which picks up traffic signals transmitted via certain FM frequencies.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_message_channel
>>28893040doesn't work in straya does it?
Because I want my maps, navigation, music, hands fee calls and speech to text messaging all incorporated into one unit that is not held to the windscreen with a suction cup with gay ass external cables.
chink carplay units go for under $100 on aliexpress and waze blows this thing out of the water in every possible way. tomtoms and garmins were pretty cool in 2006 though way better than having to print shit out on Mapquest
>>28893051Zoomer, got it.
>>28893040I got a Tomtom when it was a new idea, it kept breaking mounts. My current, not new, car has an equivalent (2 DIN size) bulit in.The original is in a drawer somewhere.
>>28893040Cause my Tesla has it built in.
my car came with android auto thoughever.
>>28893046TMC is slowly being discontinued worldwide, thoughever.
>>28893062>getting anything for your car from aliexpressGrimmest of grim
>>28893157I find it hilarious that you think head unit screens are bad but don't really know why, and have a bunch of devices taped to your dash to fulfill the exact same purpose anyway.
>>28893040I got me pioneer head unit with AA and Car Play.
>>28893040>tracks and sell ur GPS data to insureres
>>28893040>can pick up real time traffic>no internet connection Explain
>>28893046This is primarily for incidents broadcasted by emergency services etc, not actual real time traffic.
>>28893040I use a Garmin. Phone coverage is garbage where I live so having a local hard drive for it is great.
>>28893040Because I look up where I want to go on a map and then remember the route like we did when men were still men.
>>28893040I have a phone.
>>28893040>police reported ahead>woop woop KA band>slow down a little>bitch ass cops there as anticipatedI'll keep using my phone thanks, it's no radar detector but it's almost as good at this point with everyone using waze and google reporting hazards and whatnot, plus it tells me where to go with live traffic, and it's also my phone and can play music etc.
>>28894063See >>28893046
>>28894145This, I could understand using a Garmin or paper map on a road trip through the middle of bfe with no service, but most places have service and you'll get up to date maps with live traffic and hazard reports.
