The regular use makes cleaning the wheels easier with first gentle water stream and a soft rag with very gentle stroking to pull the loose dirt off. My wheels are clear coated, so I have to take care of the clear coat for optimum looks. After the initial wash I then use the spot detailer. All four wheels take longer than the rest of the car due to the need to be careful of the clear coat.

Once a blue moon (when required) I'll then use some wheel spray on the alloys, leave it to sit for 30-60 sec, then use a large detailer's brush to disturb whatever is about, then hose it off. That shit works amazingly well, any and all stubborn crap in the tighter/smaller areas just comes right off and you only do it very rarely.

I put down a ceramic coat when i got the wheels three years ago. This is the first year I'm gonna give the wheels some extra attention. I'll be trying swisswax wheel wax with ptfe next week when I do a full detail.
