Once you get north of 15 years a lot of expensive components start reaching end of life and they can be worth more than the car itself. Only two reasons to get a car in that age range: either you really like that car and are willing to pay whatever it takes to keep it in proper condition, or you're broke and plan to only do basic maintenance until it stops working and then you scrap it.
