picrel is $30. Used oil drum is ~$70. Then I need to either make 10 trips to the gas station with a jerry can or somehow siphon fuel from my car to the drum a couple times to fill it up. I’m thinking of getting just one drum, but have space for like 6.
>t. oil is expected to run out here after 11 April.

tell me first what car are you driving, specifically the engine

Can't you just get a larger tank and then have a load of fuel delivered? I think around here they'll deliver as little as 250 gallons or so. Your common gravity fed fuel tank on a stand is 300 gallons.

Pic rel is one of my gas tanks. I have two 300 gallon gravity fed tanks on stands like this, and a 500 gallon electric pump tank on skids at my other farm, and my mom has another 500 gallon tank with electric pump. Those are all gasoline. I have much bigger diesel tanks, one 1250, one 1000, and another 1000 and a 2000 that are hooked together at the other place.

Anon, modern e10 gas goes bad in 6months or less.

You know you can just buy drums of gasoline, correct?

no e10 here, car is a 4 cylinder turbo (~30mpg). I don’t think I can get fuel deliveries but I can certainly check.
gravity fed sounds cool, but probably costs way more. I have an awning over a cement pad I was going to put it under.

Not sure how things are in the states, but here in the UK you can usually find a static 2200 litre bowser for around the equivalent of $660. They also hold their value quite well, so you could re-sell it once you're finished with it for somewhere close to your original purchase price. Trailer versions are also available, but obviously they're quite a bit more expensive, usually double the price.

Obviously it depends on your available space and ability to transport, but we had one one the back of our truck for fueling machinery on-site, and it was fuckin' great. Even had a built-in electric pump, so no hand-cranking needed.
