I can get one of these bad boys for high to mid 3’s. They didn’t hold value well at all. Perfect time to pick up a clean example.

Gr86 owners really punching the air right now
>>
>>28895246
2022?
>>
>>28895246
They don't hold value when you're brown. Look up any single owner z sold by a white man, you gotta pay top dollar you broke "muh resale value" faggot kek
>>
wouldn't it be cool if they actually sold a new car with a new platform and a new engine instead of just updating the interior of an over 20 year old car?
>>
>>28895253
That's not how sports cars work wrenchlet.
>>
>>28895255
>glazing manufacturers for being lazy
this board is hopeless
>>
>>28895252
So many buzzwords, so little of substance said. SAD!
>>
>>28895253
Are you 16 years old? No one buys sports cars anymore goofy. They can’t do that and keep it affordable to the common man
>>
>>28895246
i liked them until i saw what you had to do to replace the turbos on them

it requires a lift to drop the engine/subframe from the bottom.

just buy a s650 5.0 theyre relatively cheap for what you get
>>
>>28895253
Why would that be cool? What would this magical new platform and engine do? People greatly overestimate what a "platform" is, or what a new one accomplishes. If they spent the money developing all this new shit then that cost gets passed along to the buyer and you're still getting an open differential on the base model.
>>
>>28895280
FIDDY GAY for a gottdamn Moostang

no thanks
>>
>>28895290
fix how shitty the old one is
are you people paid to pretend cars are perfect just because they are sports cars or trucks?
It's like talking with NPCs, you cannot handle criticism at all.
>>
>>28895308
No one ever said it was perfect. But a new "platform" isn't going to fix any of the things about it that you think are "shitty"
>>
>>28895290
What he's really trying to say is the car needs more LEDs, fake vents and and a wing. That's what "new platform" means to these ricers.
>>
>>28895313
it would make the engine smoother, the car roomier, the tech features better, etc.
everything gets better with a new design unless you are VW (cursed)
not that VW does "truly" new designs for the most part

>>28895333
no, it means a smoother new engine, a nicer interior with more room, and a better ride and handling
the Z was never ever said to have great handling it was always said to be fat and lazy handling and mostly about looks
>>
>>28895350
>it would make the engine smoother,
No it wouldn't. I don't even know why you would think that it would, or how it could
>the car roomier
Again, no. They want it to be the size that it is. They're not going to make it any bigger, a new platform would still have the same size body on it.
>the tech features better
The wrongest one so far. This part exists entirely outside of anything that the "platform" encompasses
>etc.
Don't say "etc" when you run out of things to think of.
>>
>>28895357
>This part exists entirely outside of anything that the "platform" encompasses
no, because a lot of that is dependent on electrical architecture and you are using a design from 2002
nobody is stopping you from buying old shitty cars, but there's no reason to not make a new one other than to fleece complacent customers/shills like you who expect and tolerate mediocrity
>>
>>28895359
>a lot of that is dependent on electrical architecture
And you think that's somehow baked into the "platform"? There's no way they can upgrade or update anything without redesigning the entire car from the ground up?
So then I guess it would have been impossible for Ford to use the same platform from the 2015 Mustang and add a bunch of new features to it like Sync 4, a digital gauge cluster, copilot360, wireless charging pads, magneride suspension, a 10 speed automatic, and an electronic drift brake, along with a better cpu and gpu to run all the extra screens and computer controlled parts
>>
>>28895360
>glazing manufacturers for refusing to update cars
nobody, NOBODY is stopping you from buying used cars anon

nissan is known for cutting corners and appealing to poor black people, maybe you are poor and black and just lack the IQ to process anything I am saying and I am wasting my time
>>
>>28895362
Picking fights with strawmen just tell us you know you're wrong. People who believe in their argument stick to it and back it up. No one is "glazing" anything. I haven't said a single good thing about the car. Trying to turn this into an ad hominem arms race is just sad. Imagine talking to someone else who talked like you do.
>>
corvette wins yet another thread
>>
>>28895366
you are defending lazy manufacturing practices and lack of innovation

>>28895367
>pushrod engines in 2026
just as lazy

it pains me to say this, due to the interior, but the only truly new sports car is the mercedes cle coupe/convertible
>>
>>28895350
>it means a smoother new engine
Dude shut the fuck up you faggot wrenchlet
>>
>>28895333

nissan already did that for you

just look at the $70k + tip + tax automatic only nismo z

>>28895362

arguing with the wrenchlet poster is a waste of time

just mentally filter him
>>
>>28895253
what a retarded wrenchlet argument represented of the average numale on /o/
>>
>>28895246
You'll never find that car for 3k. For 3k you can probably get an old used smart car
>>
>>28895368
>>pushrod engines in 2026
Holy based. Faggot ricers like you would never understand.
>>
>>28895723
Pretty sure he meant 35k by mid 3s. I saw 3 of these this week so more people buying them.
>>
>>28895253
proven platforms are better in literally every instance
the C8 has been out for 6 years and people are still working on figuring them out

ironically if they still sold the z32 brand new but unchanged since ~1996 with a factory warranty i'd buy one of those right now
>>
>>28895246
Do you want an honest review of this car?

It looks great, the transmission is great (manual) and you can get it in a fun color (yellow). 400hp is more than enough to spin the tires free in third gear when you put your foot to the floor

The only downside is the trunk space because of the hatch/roof sloping down and the high floor.

I bought it when Nissan told dealers to sell them for 10k less than msrp. I wouldn't mind a blue GR86 but the hatch in the Z is actually more practical because it's wider.

I love it. Ask me anything.

>>28895253
Why does it need a new platform? Take a reliable platform and give it a new body style. Done. Cheap parts and any issues are known common issues. Imagine if VW released a MK4 Golf again and maybe gave it a new radio. It could take a new engine but the 2.0L is already reliable.
>>
>>28897678
what color did you go with? rosewood is the thinking man's color

Yellow, 6speed manual performance. My dream car. I remember seeing it posted on /o/ and thinking it was a rendering that wouldn't look as good when it officially launched. I saw all the youtube reviews talking about how good it looks and how they didn't update anything and it's stupid to buy it at dealer markup pricing. I was hesitant about the practicality but it's been great. I just got some fabric storage compartments for behind the seats and I drive it to work every day in traffic.

The transmission does feel clunky/crunchy when it's cold out. It's weird but it's not bad. It's hard to take off smoothly because the throttle is sensitive but has that modern 'delay' between 800-1200 RPM and I think that's all modern cars.

Everybody says it needs more power but I can be going 30mph in 3rd gear and floor it and the back it goes sideways. I drive to work and use maybe 1/4 throttle and hit 5psi of boost.

>>28897688
It's my first Nissan and I hate the brand so I was very cautious about buying this vehicle. The forums are full of cancerous people installing shitty aftermarket mods and talking about how turbos will explode and not to use 0w20 oil and needing to install bigger intercoolers and they end up fucking up their cars.

I love the interior being mostly mechanical. The digital cluster is fine and is very smooth but analog gauges or at least some more digital gauge options to choose from would be cool.
>>
they were mid to low 30s the year after they came out cause people weren't buying

>>
>>28898270
G as in giga obese?
>>
>>28895246
god two-tone deep red looks good on every car
>>
>>28895246
I would wait a little bit more as they fall down further in value. When the new model year comes to be order only, dealers will lower prices to try and dump their old stock and replace the lot space with rouge
>>
>>28897678
Auto and manual are great, but the manual is more special for the "feel". The auto is respectable and just needs a tune like the q50/q60's do. The biggest issue is that the car is deceptively small like you said so it's a personal daily rather than a real daily like the gr86
>>
>>28898183
Auto only and McDonald's struts so I can't do it
>>
>>28895253
Or look at it this way
It's peak 2000s nissan that you can buy today new.
