"performance" cars with autotragics is so pathetic but i dont understand the hate behind owning the peak convenience transmission in my appliancebox
>>

Semi Slick is an actual class of tire used in racing though....
>>
>>28896047
I think the meme is about having them on a road car, which ranges from pointless to hazardous
>>
What is better bros? High performance summer, max performance summer, ultra performance summer, or giga performance summer?
>>
>>28896047
It's actually not.
"Semi slick' is a outdated term from the 2000s before the SCCA changed tire class rules.

>>28896391
4s and Sport 02s are god tier street tires and dry and wet.
Shit in the ice and snow though.
>>
>>28896207
Used to run them on my slightly modified 440. Only way to put the power down reliably.
I would check the weather forecast every morning to see if there's rain or not. I got surprised a few times but it wasn't that bad.

When I took my car to the track, one of the bits of advice we were given was to stick to road tires, since they give a lot more sound feedback before they lose traction. But on a 'race' tire might seem more sudden, if you aren't already familiar with how much you can push it.
Not something you couldn't handle if you're practiced, but again OP is referring to retards who think gear means skill isn't important

any opinions on the Eagle F1 Asymm 6? cross shopping against the ecs2, since I really liked the previous gen on my last car but they're supposedly just as good or better
>>

apparently bias plys are even more forgiving in this regard. they're not as grippy as radials but what grip they do have, when you push it to the limit it gradually loses it rather than being more sudden like radials.
but i doubt you're gonna find bias plys that'll work with anything made past 1980 lol
>>
"performance" cars with manual tranny is so pathetic we all know that shit is slow car cope
>>
Are r888r semi slicks?
>>
>>28898971
No, Proxes R is Toyo's semislick. Proxes RS1 is their slick.

>>

Oh so you know more than Hoosier tire?
https://www.hoosiertire.com/news_article.cfm?cid=73925
>Hoosier is proud to announce a new multi-year agreement with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) to supply a custom “SMX” DOT approved semi-slick

Eat a dick, LARPing faggot.

The SCCA articles are written by women these days anon.
They don't know what they are talking about.
Hoosier or any other tire maker do not call their 200tw a semi slick.
There's no such thing as a semi slick.
>>
>>28900524
Its literally from Hoosier's website, not SCCA.
Whats your next excuse?

i feel like using bias plys in this day in ages is just being a caveman for the sake of it.
I mean it's fine for classic cars for the sake of being authentic, but if you're trying to learn or perform you're probably losing too much to gain too little
>>
>>28902108
i may be biased but bias ply has always plied my bias if you bias my ply
>>
>>28902108
>for the sake of being authentic,
Nobody is going to run leaded gas or organic brake shoes juat because they were factory.
There are radials that look just like bias ply tires.
>>
>>28898986
wtf is that
>>
>>28902469
Mickey Hoosier Thompsons.
Do you even tire bro?
>>
kek
>>
>>28902460
i know a guy that only uses leaded gas in his classic
>>
>>28903310
Unless he only drives 5 miles a year, it'll be cheaper just to shell out to have his heads machined for hardened seats and bronze guides.
>>
>>28900524
Man I hate dealing with women holy fuck
