As annoying as he is, I think hating the V6 Challenger is a meme at this point specifically because of how annoying he is and nothing else. The Challenger is not a bad car, it was one of the last of a dying breed of automobile that is increasingly just no longer available. Whatever associations you have about it are completely irrelevant to its qualities as a car.The pentastar 3.6 isnt anything special, and while a V6 in general isn't my first choice there's nothing inherently wrong with the configuration and ~300hp is respectable even with the insane powercreep of the last 20 years.While it's not my own first choice by any means, I'm sure it's a satisfying and fun car to drive, and anyone who couldn't be happy with one of these cars has something inherently wrong with them.

>>28899167mopar does this dumb shit where they put a really slow opening high temp thermostat in to get slightly lower NOX emissions from increased cylinder temps. in normal driving when the car is new it's not usually an issue but when the thermostat fails or the coolant gets old and it's just exceptionally fucking hot one day, everything goes into thermal runaway and all the rubber and plastic starts failing. happens with the pentastar too, it's why the oil coolers go bad. aftermarket thermostats are the way to go. before normal driving temps were up around 219-221 and hooning temps could hit 260 easily. never had the engine even get above 215 even after thrashing it on the dragon with the ripp t-stat.
