Long story short: my father is retiring and in the next months he will give back his company car which is the current plug-in Lexus NX, he really likes that car but can't justify spending so much money on a car for his future use.

With a budget of circa 45.000€ (minus discounts and incentives), he wants a full hybrid Japanese car with possibly most of the bells and whistles that can be find on the Lexus, but most importantly it has to be decently quick since he's used to 309 hp on the Lexus.

Since Mazda doesn't have a full hybrid and Toyota is boring as fuck, I'm pointing him to the new Civic e:HEV which is fast enough (0-100 in 7,1 seconds is very quick), is inside the budget and it's good to drive, however while the top trim has a lot of stuff, it misses something like the 360° camera, the HUD, the seat memories and there's some minor stuff that annoys me because I'm autistic, such as the incandescent bulbs in the rear lights (what the fuck Honda).

Now, he may want another cuckover and there's the ZRV which is the taller crossover Civic, it has some options which for some reason you can't find on the civic such as the HUD, the seat memories and the electric tailgate, also the rear lights are 100% led, BUT the car is Made in China and not in glorious Nippon, also being 200+ kg heavier it's slower with worse fuel economy. I don't know.

Redpill me on these cars anons, I'm listening.

If youre looking to have a serious discussion on hybrids /o/ isn't the place to do it.

34 litres of gas for me isn't enough in that car, my clio got 34 litres too and while it reports 700 kilometers of range, I can guarantee that it doesn't last as much, and that's with an average of 5 litres per 100km.

If he likes the NX you can pick up a used NX for your budget, if the company owns the fleet inquire about buying the one he currently has from them.

If you don't love your dad and want to take advantage of his age that's fine, but don't lie to us, what you're really trying to do is get access to a 'cool' car through him in order to get yourself wet. If I'm wrong, and you do truly love your dad and he feels the budget's tight, you'll chip in and help him out.

Dude, I'm 34 and I have my own car, I also like his NX too and it's the most powerful car I've ever tried.

I didn't think about checking for used NXs but I did now and the cheapest one sits at 45.800€ which may be fine but it's at the other side of the country, and these cars are rare here in Europe, they sell like 1000 Lexus per year in my country. I'll tell him and see if he likes it, but keep in mind that there are also higher maintenance costs related to the car, not only the initial price. That car has 20" wheels.

He asked me for help because I'm the car expert in the family as well as the "computer expert" so I tried my best to find some decent car in this shit market of nowadays, it is all.

I read that the average consumption if you don't drive on the highway is close if not better than 20 km per liter.
The ZRV has a way bigger fuel tank though.

he likes the NX but you think Toyota is boring as fuck? lol are you really thinking about him or a car you want. Just get him a prius or something, or a cuckover. Who the fuck cares if your dad likes it and if it does the job under a decent brand, stop projecting your taste on to him.
>civic for my dad
jfc grow the fuck up

I'm thinking of getting the gle 500e. Now that Merc has inline6 on their plug-ins, it can be an x5 hybrid alternative. The x5 has a lot of wind noise and it's kind of annoying desu.

While I believe that Toyota are boring, it's also my father's opinion.
I'm not talking about the powertrain, which of course it's the same you can find on the NX, but styling wise the Toyota models are boring or ugly as hell, also their interior are dull as fuck.
Lexus may be a posh Toyota but at least they're stylish and well insulated from the outside.

Also, as I said he asked me for help and I gave him my opinion...it's up to him to go and try the cars and see if he likes them, he's not spending his money just because I told him to check car X and Y.

What a fucking train wreck of a car, made for brown people. The stars in the headlights are peak chinese pandering.

It is a cuckover, but he should look at the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid. They’re a nice vehicle, and purely a last generation RAV4 Hybrid underneath. Toyota reliability with Mazda peripherals.
