>Alfa Romeo should’ve done this and that, they need to make these kind of cars with these specific engines

…aaaaaaand nobody would still not buy their cars as always, piling excuse after excuse to justify going for the competition.
>>
>>28898964
their issue wasn't product, at least not until they made the tonales
their problem was that nobody knew they existed, and they made no effort to change that while their dealer (and therefore service) network slowly choked out
>>
>>28898972
>their issue wasn't product
Are you sure about that?
They had literally one compelling product for the US market and they launched it with famously Italian reliability.
>>
>>28898972
their issue was the shitty interiors and uncompetitive ADAS features
>nobody cares about that
sales figures suggest otherwise
>>
>>28898998
Mazda has nice interiors and nobody buys them but miatafags.
>>
>>28899000
mazda has outdated interiors and other issues with transmission programming, poor fuel economy, and legendarily stiff ride (esp. new cx-60/70/90 products)

mazda still sells a decade old 3 sedan and various hatch and suv'ized variants
try making NEW product with NEW engines and watch sales go up up up

miata needs a turbo (and to be bigger inside)

Because alfa turned to shit after Sergio Marchionne died. Look at who leadership was afterwards and the shit they put out since. Giulia is almost 10 years old and they've made 0 new good cars since it came out. The $1m special edition they produced 33 units of doesn't count
t. Giulia owner

>the Stradale 33 doesn’t count
holy cope.
also, no need to come up with new garbage when you have the perfect 2 cars available (Giulia and Stelvio)
>>
>>28899589
I mean, the new Giulia is coming out next year and it’s based on Giorgio Evo/sport platform which is the same god tier platform as before but even more evolved for Maserati.
>>
>>28899599
It's not going to be based on stla large anymore? That's pretty cool I guess. Can Giorgio fit the hurricane engines?
>>
>>28899615
Probably, also Filosa (the CEO) said that they’re not giving up the V6 so they will probably evolve it further
>>
>>28898949
Fiat will not allow them because that kills Maserati. The same way they killed Lancia for Alfa before.
>>28899002
>mazda has outdated interiors
In current times, that's a good thing.
>poor fuel economy
On paper, because the tests favour tiny turbo 1-liters.

The giulia and stelvio hold similar positions to the 2002 and early 3 series: cars that are practical enough and priced suitably to justify owning them as a sole vehicle, but which are dynamically performant enough to stand out from the rest of the market despite the relative lack of creature comforts. Being stripped down compared to Mercedes or modern BMW is one of the selling points. The company just never tried to actually sell those points.
What made things worse is that the American market assumed that after they left in the 90s, they had never come back. People never considered them to be an option after a couple of decades of them not being an option

>>
>>28900086
Service costs come from the badge and the nettuno engine, when Alfa inevitably uses the Grand Cherokee 320hp i4 as a base engine (quick 91 octane tune to 350hp base model) and maintains its objectively lower cost to own, perhaps you'll join us

>wont even make a new platform
its over, they are the mitsubishi of sports cars
>>
>>28900266
Considering the direction, not making a new platform and sticking with good old stuff is a good thing.
>>
>>28898972
I swear every dumb bitch who doesn't go outside, watch advertisements, or buy new products, always blames a company's failures on poor marketing. People didn't buy them because they don't make normies look as rich as other brands, and they didn't offer anything compelling for a driving enthusiast either.
>>
>>28900661
>glazing corporations for not putting in actual effort
>>
>>28898956
The whole company bet everything on Giulia/Stelvio platform that cost around a billion to develop. In the nine years since, all cars developed on it have sold a total of around 350 000 cars - leaving around 2 800 dollars of that development cost to be depreciated per car, in addition to all other costs.

It just wasn't a good investment even though it made good cars. Alfa and Jaguar trying to be Italian/British BMW wasn't a winning bet in 2010s.

As soulless as the Stellantis approach is of trying to make Alfa a premium sportier car based on identical engineering with Peugoet/Citroen/Opel/Fiat/DS, it makes economic sense.
>>
>>28898996
Giulia doesn't actually suffer from reliability issues 10 years.
>>
>>28899000
Mazda has sold 6x many this gen Mazda 3s as Alfa has sold Giulias in same time frame. CX-5 has outsold Stelvio 15-to-1 since 2017.
>>
>>28900707
How's it gonna suffer reliability issues when nobody bought these pieces of shit lol dumbass slop loving faggot
>>
>>28900707
Guy is a faggot. Mine has been fine.
>>
>>28900710
thats because the Stelvio (and Giulia) have too much steering feedback and razorsharp handling.
soccermoms can’t handle it

kek

It looks ok but all the electric shit would stop working after 8 years
>>
>>28900954
so what, get it replaced and then enjoy it for another 8 years.
>>
Alfa Romeo is dogged by its bad reputation in regards to reliability, and a poor service network. They're also competing with BMW in price and given that choice a lot of people are gonna default to BMW for the same money. What Alfa needed was much more aggressive marketing, 15 year warranty and ads everywhere until even your dog knows what a Stelvio is, aggressive pricing early on at least to get cars on the road and accepting that they're gonna have to run on very tight margins or even at a loss for a while to claw their way back from the hole they're in.
>>
>>28900710
>Mazda 3
>car with years of dealer network support, starting below 30,000
>giulia starts above 40k, with a newer and less entrenched dealer network
I would certainly hope it outsold the giulia
>>28900667
Alfa ran like one ad campaign on launch, then one for the tonale during a super bowl
Giulia ad campaign ended without replacement and tonale ended up being a huge piece of shit that even Dodge didn't want once they got their hands on it. Even Porsche and Mercedes advertise regularly, but the Italians were too proud
>>
>>28901366
>the italians
hate to break it to you turbo wrenchlet but that car has nothing to do with italy
>>
>>28900954
Better than a Tesla where all the electric shit stops working after 5 years.
>>
>>28898949

Why is that giving me Z4 vibes?
