>>28900958For a number of years, I drove an E28 M5. It was a US spec engine with Euro-spec headers and freer flowing exhaust. It was a real engine in a real car. I rented, after a car accident for about a month, a V6 2023 Challenger. It was perfectly fine. The thing started every morning. It was reasonably comfortable. The sound system was almost as good as the one in my E66, which was a far faster but shittier car simply due to the reliability. The V6 was just alright. Nothing special. To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen: Anon, I served with sports cars. I knew sports cars. Sports cars were a friend of mine. Anon, your V6 Challenger is no sports car.
>>289010547k soon after i change my alternator and pumps out from the 214k factory originalsmaybe go with the metal oil cooler too just for looks
>>28901083as i have said several times before, a typical rental v6 chally is not all that special due to emissions hobbling, but it takes to tuning and boltons extremely well, and once you have enabled the upgraded transmission logic the super track packs get it becomes astoundingly quick. even when i got my car initially it wasn't all that great, i didnt even have throttle blip so when you downshift it would just drop into gear with a massive jolt, but after some electronic fiddling it woke the fuck up.also the 2023s have less power and are heavier than the 2016 i drive
>>28901099There's no difference between the 2023 V6 Challenger I got from Enterprise and a 2023 Challenger on the lot at the local Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat/Ram/whatever the fuck they're selling this week dealer. What you're saying is that you had to fuck with it to make it good. That contradicts what you said about it in earlier threads. You previously said you made one reliability mod and it made the thing run for ever. Now you're claiming you did all these things to it to make it good. Yes, a tune will turn just about any engine into a much more interesting engine. A tune on an LS turns it into a fire breather, as do bolt ons. The Pentastar isn't special. It is no S38. It is no Colombo. It is a twin cam V6. With a tune, that can be pretty good. But that doesn't make it special.
>>28901110>There's no difference between the 2023 V6 Challenger I got from Enterprise and a 2023 Challenger on the lot at the local Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat/Ram/whatever the fuck they're selling this week dealer.that isn't true, they come with a pretty wide swathe of options. even my base model came with the thickest sway bars and the dual core radiator from the pursuit Charger because it was constructed specifically to be used by Enterprise in the southwest.>What you're saying is that you had to fuck with it to make it good.yes, that's what being an auto enthusiast is all about. built not bought.>That contradicts what you said about it in earlier threads.oh really, can you post some of that for me? because i said what i said a million times before: that the stock car is hobbled by aggressive nox emission countermeasures and doing a few simple mods like enabling srt featuresets and installing a cooler thermostat make the car much more responsive and significantly faster.>The Pentastar isn't speciali disagree, it is easily one of the best engines ever made. it's lightweight, it revs high, it sounds good, it's easy to work on, extremely common, and cheap to fix. it pulls everything from work vans to pickups to sports cars to commuter shitboxes. the 3.6 Avenger was the fastest car of its class in the world. there isn't a country on this planet that doesn't have a Pentastar-powered car in it.the S38 and Columbo were never Wards winners and the Pentastar stayed on that list for about a decade.the Pentastar is a very special engine, it saved Chrysler from bankruptcy and singlehandedly paid for the development of 800hp s/c v8s and the ZB Viper. It was the only reason Fiat considered buying Chrysler at all.If you don't like Pentastars you don't like cars. it's that simple.
>>28901123>They're not the same because mine came from a rental company too!So then what difference does it make if we are both driving rental specs?Specifically, rental spec cars for the Southwest. You said change the thermostat and nothing else. You can't even keep up with your own lies. >Wards ten bestOn that list are notable hits such as:>Cadillac Northstar>Ford Duratec>Ford Triton>GM 6.2 with cylinder deactivation. So not exactly a mark of prestige. That said, BMW has received 41 awards excluding their special 20th century awards, during which time every BMW straight six from 1968 on was listed. But take that with a grain of salt, they listed the Flathead V8 and the Model T engine as well.

>>28901205>Most of what you said there is wrong, btw.no, it isn't. the Pentastar was solely responsible for Chrysler's financial recovery. Its volume sales drive top of the line development. you know nothing about cars or the auto industry if you think a single thing i said was wrong.

The company, which received bailout funds in 2009 during the financial crisis, repaid $7.6 billion in principal and interest to the U.S. and Canadian governments. >>28902412*sure smells like cylinderlets here
it stinks ofW A L L YALLY
>>28902421interesting, i've got the SRT shift and esp logic on mine. while it shifts deliciously smooth in automatic mode, in manual mode there is basically no "clutch slipping" sort of feeling, it goes straight into gear with a snap and the tc is locked to the drivetrain instantly. it is in a word, unslushable.what's probably going on with yours is overcompensating torque mitigation expecting a more powerful engine so it slips the clutch packs a bit more than it really needs to causing slushy shifts. maybe also some other engine torque math is getting miscalculated because the tcm is expecting a different intake manifold pressure range than what it's actually getting. i don't know if alfa does ecus like dodge does where they calculate everything in reverse, for me installing the upper intake manifold from a durango/ram significantly improved shift performance. in my car the tcm is extrapolating engine torque from manifold pressure, temps, rpm, and fuel mass and that's the number it is using to calculate how fast to engage the clutch packs. moving my iat sensor to the air filter box for a more accurate reading and installing a shorter intake with a larger plenum so that manifold temps stayed low seemingly eliminated any slushy shifting. i pull the paddle or press the stick and the car shifts into the next gear before i can even release it.agreed about the paddles it is basically just like driving a gt3 car in rfactor. late braking and downshifting in sync to fly into a turn is so cool

>>28902492Okay so you might be the right person to press this question on. Is swapping the open for a LSD a must? I don’t track it, I like how it drives but I would like to drift on tarmac. What do?
>>28902757absolutely. the LSD completely eliminates the peg-leg shit the open diff car does in turns. the caster jacking of the front suspension likes to lift the inside wheel in sharp corners and the LSD keeps the car's ass squatted flat on the ground. you can confidently gun the throttle at the apex of a turn and the thing just hooks up without any hesitation. in snow or ice it's unstoppable. it's not just for drifting, it works in normal traffic driving and normal speed cornering and massively improves the handling stability in general. i highly recommend getting the hellcat 2.62 because it's the strongest, typically the cheapest and has the same final drive ratio as the v6's stock diff. 3.08s are a bit pricier and the holy grail is the 3.70 from the drag pak. the 3.90 from the manual will work but it shortens the zf8's first gear too much and the transmission computer hates it.you also need axles from an R/T, not a Hellcat. Hellcat axles have a larger outer cv joint that won't fit in the V6's rear control arms, but the R/T axles will.also, because the diff and axles are heavier than the stock open by about 40 lbs, it does bring the car's weight distro closer to 50:50.of all the mods i've done to my car the LSD was by far the most effective and worthwhile. it completely changed the car's character. i was able to keep up with a tuned M3 and a track day rental RS4 on the Tail of the Dragon easily. they even asked me "how" at the end of the run lmao.

>>28903280Such as /hm/, no doubt.
>>28903290more like /c/hally
my life for challys on cop steelies
>>28903383>likes their sports car on the snow tire rimswhy is /o/ like this?
>>28903390>snow tire rimsthese are the standard 18x8 wheels for the charger pursuit, sometimes they have silver or black plastic fascias on them instead of the dog dishes.
Would've been cooler with either the SRT4 or a Steyr diesel V6 like we euros got in the 300C CRD
>>28903390this is a meat lovers board
>>28903432an srt4 chally would have been hilarious and quite frankly the new gma t4 looks cool and would make a hilarious swapwould have been way cooler if they had made the 3.2L s/c or the 4.7 V8 like was originally plannedhttps://www.motales.com/engines/V8/pentastar.phpfucking imagine, a tiny pentastar based v8 that sounds like god gargling hammers and revs to the goddamn moon
Put a B58 in there and I’m interested in buying one!Unironically
>new sixpack charger weighs over 4800lbscome on dodge…
>>28902377>i'm just like you, right mr V8 driver?sad!
>>28903622Isn't that upcoming Hurricane a twin turbo straight 6 and available as a crate motor?I've seen one straight 6 Challenger irl, a dude dropped a BMW M50B25 and a 6 speed into a was it 2011 Challenger. The M50 had a fancy super sprint exhaust with headers, cammed and a stroker kit, making all of lile 250whp or so. It was so cool.
>>28903628yeah it is, I think boosted luckey has already built one and direct connections marketing team has a drag pack chally with the hurricane swapped inI am probably going to do the same tbqh the hurricane is exactly what I need: light as a pentastar and more powerful than a hemi
Hurricane chargy bargy is what rentastar chally wally wishes what it was.
>>28903645my chally wally prefers being under 2 tons actuallyshe is a big girl but not a land whale like her younger sister
>>28903662Rentastar or 392? Which would you own if it was your only car?
>>28903673pentastar still392 is really cool and the insane thrust of the thing gives me a boner but the Pentastar is a much better daily way cheaper and more reliable, I've already had to put like 10 grand into my 392 just to unfuck it from its Mexican p/o, I still need to get the shitty fake wide body kit undone which is gonna involve basically cutting out the riveted fender clips and replacing the front fenders, it's already got a brand new crate engine but some shit like the power steering pump and all its lines are from the original engine and it leaks. the pstar chally just drives so much nicer and doesn't have the weird nautical feeling the 392 does.the best part about it though was finding the "sup nigger" written in finger grease on the inside of the sunroof. I lold.
