It was so cheesily 80s, I loved it.
There's a fuck off big turbo gauge on the center console because it's cool, it talks, it walks (v6 challengers and t5 volvos especially) it had a fancy digital dashboard.
I remember reading from somewhere, I think it was on allpar, that they refused to put a blow off valve on the Turbo II engines, unlike on the 2.5 Turbo I, because "it sounds cooler like a formula 1 car without it".
Say what you want about the FWD and 90s chryslers, but I think it was some of the most based time of Chrysler.

For a number of years, I drove an E28 M5. It was a US spec engine with Euro-spec headers and freer flowing exhaust. It was a real engine in a real car.

I rented, after a car accident for about a month, a V6 2023 Challenger. It was perfectly fine. The thing started every morning. It was reasonably comfortable. The sound system was almost as good as the one in my E66, which was a far faster but shittier car simply due to the reliability. The V6 was just alright. Nothing special.

that isn't true, they come with a pretty wide swathe of options. even my base model came with the thickest sway bars and the dual core radiator from the pursuit Charger because it was constructed specifically to be used by Enterprise in the southwest.

the pentastar had one batch of head casting failures in the early 2010s the rest of them only fail because owners neglect them and allow them to overheat when the thermostat fails which pops the oil cooler's gaskets.

got a little homebrew crackle tune from swapping the high rpm-low airflow sections of my part throttle exhaust cam tables with the wot angles so if I rev it up past 6k and shift it does a nice backfire thru the first two gears, took out the neutral rev limiter and the friction compensation to kill the rev hang so I can feather the pedal like a kaido racer, increased the throttle rate and reduced the tb sonic airflow value slightly. Idles deliciously lumpy and sounds real nice.

interesting, i've got the SRT shift and esp logic on mine. while it shifts deliciously smooth in automatic mode, in manual mode there is basically no "clutch slipping" sort of feeling, it goes straight into gear with a snap and the tc is locked to the drivetrain instantly. it is in a word, unslushable.

what's probably going on with yours is overcompensating torque mitigation expecting a more powerful engine so it slips the clutch packs a bit more than it really needs to causing slushy shifts. maybe also some other engine torque math is getting miscalculated because the tcm is expecting a different intake manifold pressure range than what it's actually getting. i don't know if alfa does ecus like dodge does where they calculate everything in reverse, for me installing the upper intake manifold from a durango/ram significantly improved shift performance. in my car the tcm is extrapolating engine torque from manifold pressure, temps, rpm, and fuel mass and that's the number it is using to calculate how fast to engage the clutch packs. moving my iat sensor to the air filter box for a more accurate reading and installing a shorter intake with a larger plenum so that manifold temps stayed low seemingly eliminated any slushy shifting. i pull the paddle or press the stick and the car shifts into the next gear before i can even release it.

absolutely. the LSD completely eliminates the peg-leg shit the open diff car does in turns. the caster jacking of the front suspension likes to lift the inside wheel in sharp corners and the LSD keeps the car's ass squatted flat on the ground. you can confidently gun the throttle at the apex of a turn and the thing just hooks up without any hesitation. in snow or ice it's unstoppable. it's not just for drifting, it works in normal traffic driving and normal speed cornering and massively improves the handling stability in general.
i highly recommend getting the hellcat 2.62 because it's the strongest, typically the cheapest and has the same final drive ratio as the v6's stock diff. 3.08s are a bit pricier and the holy grail is the 3.70 from the drag pak. the 3.90 from the manual will work but it shortens the zf8's first gear too much and the transmission computer hates it.
you also need axles from an R/T, not a Hellcat. Hellcat axles have a larger outer cv joint that won't fit in the V6's rear control arms, but the R/T axles will.
also, because the diff and axles are heavier than the stock open by about 40 lbs, it does bring the car's weight distro closer to 50:50.

of all the mods i've done to my car the LSD was by far the most effective and worthwhile. it completely changed the car's character. i was able to keep up with a tuned M3 and a track day rental RS4 on the Tail of the Dragon easily. they even asked me "how" at the end of the run lmao.

I've seen one straight 6 Challenger irl, a dude dropped a BMW M50B25 and a 6 speed into a was it 2011 Challenger. The M50 had a fancy super sprint exhaust with headers, cammed and a stroker kit, making all of lile 250whp or so. It was so cool.

392 is really cool and the insane thrust of the thing gives me a boner but the Pentastar is a much better daily way cheaper and more reliable, I've already had to put like 10 grand into my 392 just to unfuck it from its Mexican p/o, I still need to get the shitty fake wide body kit undone which is gonna involve basically cutting out the riveted fender clips and replacing the front fenders, it's already got a brand new crate engine but some shit like the power steering pump and all its lines are from the original engine and it leaks.
the pstar chally just drives so much nicer and doesn't have the weird nautical feeling the 392 does.

the best part about it though was finding the "sup nigger" written in finger grease on the inside of the sunroof. I lold.
