Hell/o/ I want to commission a buisness to restore my ride that's riddled with rust. Which service should I consider and why? Is there a particular reason to choose one over the other? Is one less expensive than the other? If so is there an objective downside to the lesser expensive service?Thank you for potential effortposting in advance.
>>28900203You are a dumb nigger faggot.
>>28900203If youre talking about a chassis or other large pieces (doors, engine block etc), its not going to happen. Not just the cost but also the size. You want media blasting.Sand blasting is the most common but can cause excess heat and warping (rare but happens).Baking soda is also used. Takes more time but causes less potential damage.
>>28900203>Dry Ice or Laser for Rust Restoration?Electrolysis
i have a laser. its cool.
>>28900357And I have the Power Glove, it's so bad.
>>28900213It would be for a whole frame and under carriage. >>28900344Dunno what that means but thanks anyway>>28900212Fry about it, it's shrimple as that
>>28900203In my area a couple of years ago I was unable to find a dry ice blasting service for what I needed. After investigating a bit further it has fairly significant capex requirements along with ongoing opex and consumables compared to laser. For what I needed, laser seemed comparatively aggressive and seemed to leave more marks on the parts but it really depends on what youre trying to do. depending on the scope of work you can probably buy a laser cheaper than paying some other retard to do it for you.Dont blind yourself. Good luck.
>>28900381Get it dipped.
>>28900462Dipped?
>>28900413Any advice on good brands for both the eye bro and Ray gun I figure it's gonna cost me but not as much as a full service.
>>28900605Dipping in acid so it would eat away the rust.Iirc it also eats away metal making your chassis lighterIts expensive as fuck iirc, but probably the way to go for for complete resto jobs
>>28900381Unless it's a rare classic which is worth the cost and effort to keep on the road rather than just reshelling it, just find a new shell.
>>28900203are you talking about bodywork? i'm pretty sure you need to sand it smooth. dry ice and lasers do not address porosity.
>>28900203bong gives his review of his rust removal machine one year after he bought it direct from china for 5000 euroshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABCS8Ya7sbA
Spray or brush on some ospho.
>>28900203laser will remove metal under the rust dry ice will just do the rust. i would do dry ice for that reason alone.
>>28900203talk to dry ice vendors and see who they supply with dry ice for car restorations if you cant a company to do it
If it's a car you like then sand blasting. If not then an angle grinder.
